I noticed something that started just today:

First, on the character select screen, if I click on the character I want to play, there's about a four second delay after my click to when the click "takes" and it sends me into the game. No big deal, although I have been noticing several threads about people who can't log in at all.

Here's the bigger issue, and pay attention - it gets complicated. When I'm in space, if I click on a player ship, there's a similar delay in the Selected Item window from when I click on it to when their character and ship portrait are displayed. And then there's ANOTHER delay until all the buttons for interacting with that ship come up (e.g. approach, lock, orbit, etc.).

Meanwhile, whatever was last on the window stays there until the update completes. So if I had nothing selected, I have "No Object Selected" in the Selected Item window. Then I click a player ship in the overview, and nothing happens in the Selected Item window for a few seconds. Then the ship and character portrait show up in their appropriate locations, but "No Object Selected" still appears in back of them. Then a few seconds later, all the interaction buttons show up and are usable.

If I then select another player, the same sort of thing happens, only this time it's the interaction buttons for the old selection target, still usable, that remain.

So if I select Urist McSpaceface's Vexor, it takes a few seconds to populate the Selected Item window with everything it needs. If I then go from that Vexor to select Urist McSuicidegank's Catalyst, the buttons in the window are still tied to the Vexor - if I click Approach, I will approach the Vexor. However, if I wait a few seconds, the buttons will then "switch" to the Catalyst and will work normally - as though the client had to go through the same slow-loading process as it did to populate the buttons for the Vexor in the first place.

Once I've "loaded" the buttons for any given player, if I switch BACK to that player, the buttons work immediately. But any new player I click on needs to be "loaded," and the buttons won't point to the right player until that happens.

On top of all of this, the issue is present across two separate installs of Eve Online on two separate computers. They're both in the same house, and subject to the same internet connection, so latency may be a factor. However, nothing except players exhibits any signs of lag. Modules turn on and off with no problems, navigation and warping happens immediately - any interactions with stations or gates works just fine. But I've also confirmed that loading Get Info windows on players exhibits a similar lag 100% of the time. I get name and portrait almost right away, but all tabs and their corp/alliance take about 5 seconds to load - every time on every player.

...so can anyone confirm these symptoms anywhere else? *fingers crossed*

So I may or may not have fixed the issue by restarting my modem/router. Or maybe it went away on its own.
