If the character you play have to resemble you in RL, and it is the only condition for game to be enjoyable for you, I can propose you Black Desert.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I was considering a new character for the above mentioned reasons.

I might try it for myself one more time, but what Mr. Epeen suggested was actually my way to go about it.

If you not happen to look like one of EVE preset characters, it will be nearly impossible to make yourself in the game. r.

You would be able to recognize me IRL from this avatar (minus the tattoo).
I even have the same crease on my forehead.

Hair is the toughest to match, but alternatively you can get the same haircut IRL as you have ingame :D

Just hit randomize. Who cares how you character looks? You cant leave the captians quarters, there is 0 avatar gameplay. 100% of gameplay is in space in space ships.

Mr Epeen Cool

Not true. Someone could make a new toon on their account, and transfer by plex. Not very cheap, but it would work.

To difficult to do an exact face with the limited tools, the general spacing of your features can be done like chin to lip/lip to nose ratio, cheek bones, eye height, but to many other features are limited or have no settings for facial features at all. I can do quite a lot with the tools but will also tell you that it would not likely satisfy you completely in the end.

The facial builds here in EvE is a bit... limited. The things you can do with the faces are even more limited, compared to other games.

Facial expressions are even harder because you have to sculpt your char in a way that it looks ridiculous in the Sculpting phase but after fine tuning it in the Portrait phase, you get the desired effect. To demonstrate this, try to make an angry, grinning character.

Your face might not even match the available subtypes so at best, it will only have parts of the face resemble yours, eg. Big nose, thick lips, etc.

This char, KOS, is part of a deviantart feature I made. I have made numerous attempts at recreating the first version, but the nuances of the char creation tool really keeps me from that.

If you wanna discuss tips or at least identify what empire race & subtype your face might fit onto, send this char an evemail.

I suppose someone could sculpt your face for you, and then send you specific instructions on how to replicate that result yourself.

yep. my angle and lighting make me look completely different from an amarr ni kunni. i only picked ni kunni for the cheeks and jaw. i couldnt get this look on true amarr even though i consider him to be one.

Hi everyone,

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to create realistic looking characters, let alone a character looking like myself. This is why to date I play preset faces. Hence as the title suggests I am looking for someone creating and most importantly sculpting a character for me.
That character must be sculpted using photos of my actual face, with a few added details like tatoos.
The word professional would of course indicate some form of payment.

Does anybody here offer a service like that or knows someone who does? Please contact me. :)

Kind regards,
oldconnections

Well, I've done that kind of work in the past, so I guess I fill in your requirements, but unfortunately I am specialyzed on female characters and don't have experience with male characters. Sad

Also as others have said, you are out of luck unlike your face is similar to some of the racial templates. The proportions and bone structure are very unflexible since the characters where hardcoded to look human even in the worst cases (they can be horribly ugly, but still look like human beings).

Unfortunately, they never do reply to suggestions. And forum threads don't count.

Some of us have spent literally days in character customization. Cumulatively. I spent about 4 hours the first time I made Iria in Revelations. Then maybe 4 hours when the new characters came out. Every once in a while, I'll spend 30 mins to an hour tweaking things around. I'm actually not completely satisfied with the current avatar because I couldn't get rid of that triangular shadow on her neck.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

scamming with character sales is against the CCP rules, so you may get some protection on that front, but I don't think they have any policies regarding the sale having to meet any other conditions (such as the avatar has to look in a certain way).

one thing you can do, is post a pic of your RL face (always a great idea on the Internet.. erm yeah) and I'm sure many people will give it a go, and you probably end up with a lot of hilarious responses for sure, and if you are lucky you find someone who can make you the right avatar :p

I'm pretty leet with making custom Sims for Sims 2 off a RL person's pictures, but EVE's avatar tools offer nowhere near the similar level of customisation options (actually none of the Sims series after Sims 2 offer the same lvl of customisation/flexibility as Sims 2, which is what made me quit that series :p)

Toboo, thank you for your feedback.

It's sad to hear, that doing this is most likely not possible.

Yeah, the looking like me part would be what I would us Chribba's collateral services , if he would even accept to be the judge of that in the first place.
Also just posting my picture online will not happen. There are other solutions to this.

That just gave me another idea. For those soccer games they use multiple appliances to sort of scan the head of famous players. It would be humongously awesome if CCP could do that at fanfest and attach the head to your character of choice, or even just a new character. Fanfest would also be the right revenue for that, since the players are there in person anyway.

well that is a neat idea, but personally I would not want my avatar to look like my RL self (Toobo looks better than I'll ever be, for example, lol). But I did make some avatars of RL people (like me and my friends or some celebrities) that look very similar to the RL model, for Sims 2. :p

It depends very much on how you look IRL. If you look like one of the usual streotypical avatars of the major faction toons, then it would not be a big deal to make one that looks like you. If you look nothing like any avatar I've ever seen in EVE, erm, that may be difficult task for anyone.

I don't know how we can do this, but if I see a pic of you, I wouldn't mind having a go at avatar creation for fun, and also for free. I don't think I would actually want to create a complete avatar & accept ISK for character transfers and such, but I could give you some tips on which faction/blood line to choose and roughly which settings to tweak to get 'close to' what you want, time permitting.

If I do think it is possible and if I do make an avatar that really look like you (probably only from a particular angle with specific lighting though, as usually is the case) and it is worth it for you to 'buy' such a toon, I could consider just accepting the 2 PLEX to transfer you the character without any ISK involved. I'm no personal friend of Chribba but I've used his 3rd party service before and if he's holding 2 PLEX for this I wouldn't worry for a second that I would be cheated in anyway.

So up to you, whether you want to send me your pic or not heh. I mean I'm not gonna troll you with your RL pic, I've never done so and I never will, but well, up to you whether you feel comfortable with that.

If you are interested, send me an eve mail & I'll send you my email address to which you can send the pic. If you don't want to send me your RL pic then name a celebrity who most resembles you and I'll see what I can do based on publically available pic of such a person, again, time permitting. :p

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!
