Is anyone watching The Walking Dead? I'm on Season 2 Episode 12 and my favorite character already died. Cry

Good night,lovelies. ♥

I've watched up to the beginning of the current season.

Loves me some zombie show.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of zombies,I like the genre Survival-Horror. How could the screenwriters kill Dale? He was the coolest, wisest person in the group? X

Good night.

THE WALKING DEAD SNIPE BEST SNIPE!

Wait until you meet Herschel...

Hershel, the owner of the farm dies too? Who are your favourite characters? I absolutely hate Carl because he caused Dale to die.

Hmmm....My favorite character is definitely Darryl. Followed closely by Carol.

And agree, I despise Carl.

Zombie shows? Really? The popularity of the shows amazes me. The concept of slow moving reanimated dead creatures taking over the planet by eating live humans is so far fetched I could never get behind the concept.

Too many unanswerable questions:

How could they survive in great numbers after eating most the people?

Why don't they eat the other slow moving zombies?

How could they defeat armored vehicles?

How could they survive explosive rounds and or land mines?

Why wouldn't people build castles with moats and high walls to keep zombies out?

How could they survive against flamethrowers?

How could a crowd of zombies face down even one bulldozer coming towards them?

Yeah, I am not a fan of the genre and don't watch the tv shows. I also never thought the foot dragging mummy would have ever caught it's victims either, lol.

Now werewolves and vampires being faster and stronger than their intended targets are a better source for a horror scenario then mindless slow advancing masses of people who are decomposing and falling apart. Zombie hordes taking over the world by preying upon normal humans is not a concept adults can seriously defend as remotely plausible, It has all the intellectual appeal of a "Sharknado" in my honest none too humble opinion.

.

1. "Survive"? I think I would use the word "exist". They are dead, afterall. Regardless, they probably wouldn't, but that depends on the mythos that they are established in. Original Romero zombies were shamblers but there are movies where they can run and move quickly...WWZ comes to mind.

2. Most zombie genres show that they aren't interested in eating necrotic flesh. Just the tasty fresh stuff.

3. Mass. However, I think thats more movie crap than actual physics.

4. Explosive rounds or land mines that cause no trauma to the brain wouldn't do it. It's how they're able to move around without legs, arms, holes in guts, etc. When you eliminate shock and blood loss and its effects on the body, you can get away with a lot.

5. Logistics. Building great walls like that would take time. Time that is rarely reflected in movies.

6. Flame throwers would work, but you fall back to that "head trauma" discussion. Skulls are sort of notorious for their protective ability. Would take a bit to inflict enough trauma to cook the brains.

7. Generally, I'd say it cannot, but thats the movies. How boring would a movie be when you can scrape all the zombies with dozers?

And yet powerful hundred year old vampires and werewolves with animal level instinct and senses SOMEHOW loose to the protagonist and the coed love interest....

It's almost as if all those years of experience have taught the vampire nothing.

Any vampire who dies at the end of the movie, was a very stupid vampire.

I actually like werewolves. Bear

American Werewolf and the Ginger Snaps movies are among my favorites.

Vampires have been done to death..the only remarkable vampire movies of the last few years were probably Let The Right One In and 30 Days Of Night...and the reason I liked them was because they were rather atypical vampire films.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Doh, E:D can be pretty ret'd sometimes... not CCP levels of retardness, but nearly... tonight I miscalculated a fuel scoop orbit around a star and got too close to it so I was pulled off hypercruise. The destination system was barely visible by the star's rim so I made a direct warp rather than move away from the star and warp; I knew that my Clipper can warp without overheating by turning off the shield and shield boosters... so I did and cooled my power plant enough to jump without overheating. What could go wrong, after all? Well, I hadn't noticed that some stupid NPC had paid me with some useless crap, and that crap was in my cargo hold, and that means a chance that some pirate spawns and tries to intercept you, and... there he was. I just had turned on my shield so I tried to lose him behind the star (you can't intercept without LOS on the target, and NPCs aren't specially briliant and don't orbit stars) but he was in a bad position so I've been intercepted in a poorly armed Clipper with my shield off. No problem, my Clipper can outrun almost everything NPCs fly, it's not as if he was flying a... Imperial Clipper(!). Facepalm and flashback to the moment I decided to A-grade my thrusters, for an outrageous sum; and today it's been worth it. I barely could outrun that bastard while he fired mass drivers on me! Shocked

Now enter Police aka System Security Vessel. He spawns and wants to... scan me. Yeah agent, there's a guy shooting me, and you want to scan my cargo? I guessed that a NPC police spawned to scan, wouldn't change its behaviour for a silly shootout, and boy I was right. Eventually I've thrown away the cargo, the pirate grabbed it and he fled... then the NPC police scanned me after catchign up (a Viper Mk IV isn't exaclty a hot rod, and is no rival for a Clipper).

Now, this is just normal retardness. NPC AI routines are what they are, tough luck. And only God knwos what hideous stuff would had coded CCP for these situations... but it is so damn frustrating. If I had been flying the Anaconda, that pirate would have had a short but exciting first and last encounter with Ishtanchuk... Bear

Anyway it's time to go and sleep. Nighties lovelies!

This for comedic effect? Silly music comes to mind.

Probably Drifters, scramblers, "I am here only to kill you and chew bubblegum and I am out of bubblegum". stuff.

Or they would not code anything AI wise, just put a bottleneck in the travel route so other players could catch you and do whatever they want, with very minimal chance of you escaping, if you would travel alone in not specialized, gimping you travel fit.

Hope y'all are having a wonderful holiday season. The Imperium is having a Coalition Tournament this weekend that I'll be flying in as part of the Bomberwaffe team. Should be fun to watch, hopefully. Feel free to log into the twitch stream and cheer me on.

Hello LAGL,

The Horror type movie that really scares me is Demonic possession. The fact that something can take control over you and leave you helpless to do anything about it is just plain bad.

I remember back when I was in High School and The Exorcist first came out, it was terrifying to say the least. Damn movie gave me nightmares.

Heh, Exorcist looks dated to me, its classic, but is very much playing on rooted fears. I would like to see an aproach when whole possession thing doesnt really sound as bad in some cases, I dont know why directors usually dont see the brighter sides with possessions like when the spirits have a very kind nature and do pleasant things, like enable you to have a brighter mind, ancient knlowledge, sexual stamina or even immortality or telekinesis. Battles of such spirits/possessed people could look interesting. I would like to see more symbiotic aproach to whole possession thing,

And as far as horror goes, possesions with interdimensional beings as the things doing possessing look most space friendly for future, most promising for me movie wise.

Meanwhile in my mail inbox...

The above one was sent to Ishtanchuk's name. The "invovled" one was sent to Matilda's. They suggest Ish to reactivate Omega for 3 months for the price of 2, and suggest Matilda to try playing as an alpaca. The selling point is the attack on a Keepstar somewhere. Apparently they still don't understand that characters with almost inexistant track record of PvP aren't exactly thrilled about PvP events.

So I just chuckled at the "invovled". Big smile
