Expanding my toons to include a miner, i bought a miner recently. Moving it out to null in a day or two. Whats more important skill to have, exhumers 5, or all of the processing skills to 4 to use the t2 crystals.

Yes, I complain about things I don't like.

T2 crystals, but remember... Only skill up for those crystals you will use. If you plan to stay in high sec, no point in getting ABC processing skills.

And ideally you want both of your suggestions as both improve yield.

For (high-sec) level 4 mining mission running, you'd want Gneiss, Arkonor, and Dark Ochre.

Ignore this creep.

You will only ever find Jasp/Hemo/Hedberg in Mission sites in High. One has a tiny, tiny bit of gneiss.

Yeah, but if this miner is on a limited training time, and planning to run mining missions...

I would say the mining connection skill to level 4 (maybe even 5) would outweigh even the t2 crystals. The lp is part of what makes mission mining so profitable.

You're going to die many times as you don't sound like a very experienced miner. Don't fly a Hulk there - buy a few Covetors instead. And remember Hulkageddon V lasts for the whole of February this year!!!

You won't find Gneiss, Arkonor, Dark Ochre, or Crokite, but you will find in "mining missions" from mining division agents of level 4 contain ore of "Green Arisite", "Polygypsum", "Oeryl", or "Geodite" which are variants of those null-sec ores.

If you insist on mining, you get good LP and ISK over what you would have gotten mining in high-sec for minerals.

I'm actually starting on the mining missions for that. Nice to know about that link you posted.

Mining, in null, and you want to know which skills to train?

Start with the flavor needd for rats in your area for these 8 (i.e. for Sansha, EM)
-Kinetic Armor Compensation
-Explosive Armor Compensation
-EM Armor Compensation
-Thermic Armor Compensation
-Kinetic Shield Compensation
-Explosive Shield Compensation
-Thermic Shield Compensation
-EM Shield Compensation

Mechanic V
Engineering V
Shield Management V
Shield Operation V
Tactical Shield Manipulation V
Evasive Maneuvering
Energy Systems Operation.

Then work on your refining and crystals. Until then, use T1 strips, as they don't burn out anyway. You get deep into null and run out of crystals, you'll be wishing you had T1's pretty bad.

If you have an account there to rat and protect your mining ship, fly a max cargo covetor, and be trigger happy with the warp button when rats warp in, *then* switch to your rat account and clean them up.

Not trying to be an ass, but if you are going to mine in low/null, you need to be more concerned with defense before yield.
