First Circle Agent?

Is there a "first" circle agent in each chain that must be started with or can the ring be entered into with any of the agents?

Are you talking about Career Missions? Regular missions? Faction Warfare? Tournament of some sort?

I believe you can start with any of them.

My difficulty was that I started with a Caldari agent not on that list:

who led me to an agent on that list. I just didn't know if I could keep going without screwing up the pattern.

You can pretty much start with any agent in the chain. Eventually you'll end up back to the agent you first started with, hence the name 'Circle Agents'.

However I think it's best to follow the list that Dornier Pfeil linked. Each group of Circle Agents is basically a mini mission series with their own story plot.

If you don't meet the prerequisites the agent won't offer you a mission. If they do offer a mission you're OK. You may need to complete the chain in the proper order to get the storyline.

The Gallente circle is broken - for me at least. Ansa Vanonari has never been willing to offer me a mission!

This is very old content but offers a reasonable standing boost for the effort invested.

Agents are overworked and sometimes outright refuse to acknowledge Capsuleers.

If that happens, first try a relog and clear all cache files in Esc menu - reset settings tab. That usually clears up little annoying bugs, especially after a game patch release.

If that doesn't work, submit a support ticket - Type = game play support - Category = game play = Agent mission in progress.

Sometimes the Agents just need a little wake up call from CCP.

I wasn't actually after any standings. I just happened across the agent because I was in the system and clicked on her in idle curiosity and ran the mission. I have read the guides about the circle agents though and recognized Jeka Vantoh when I got the referral to her.

As it turns out there isn't any difficulty. Apparently you can enter the Caldari agent ring from two different directions.
