in short mostly frig based missions with highcheating npc. setups can run up over 500 millions but has a nice payout.

If CCP takes the NPC mining response fleet AI, puts it into missions, and scales the missions with reinforcements based on the number of fleet members you send through the acceleration gate; then you will have some kickass missioms to run.

I've always wanted missions to scale based on the number of fleet members I have with me in the mission. I've wanted the difficulty, payout, bounties and overall challenge to scale up. Right now, if I do a level 4 mission with a friend, the payout, bounties and number of NPC ships in the mission remains the same. I wish it would just scale up with more difficult encounters.

I find that the new NPC mining response fleets are more fun to fight than level 4 missions. Downside is the rewards of course, but damn, if missions were this fun then why not? I like that the NPC mining response fleets arent as predictable as missions are. And those cruiser fleets sometimes have 4 logitics with them and tackle. We've had to bring in blackbirds to break their logistics before. That's a trip. Wish neuts worked on NPCs too.

I'd say start getting used to running missions in HACs, then go to low sec and run missions there.

As long as you keep an eye on the directional scan you'll see if anyone tries to probe you out (unlike the FW l4 missions that show up in overview for anyone to warp to).

Honestly I've done high sec missions null sec missions, and low sec missions are the most fun I have had in a while.

As for security missions (the only type of PvE I do) it desperately needs a complete overhaul that makes the missions much more dynamic and satisfying. A simple thing they could implement is creating dynamic triggers and a varied spawns in mission pockets. Though that will not be enough to make the missions feel more 'alive', but it's a start. Basically 'EVE Survival' pages needs to be totally useless as a refference, the mission spawns should be different every time.

Doing the burners and chasing isk/h kept me entertained for about 6 months or so. Worth a look if you're interested in that kind of things (spreadsheets / maximizing isk/h / some lite market stuffs)

sounds about right.

also goes to show CCP can design and publish new pve content and people will master it and get bored rather quickly. Makes it hard for me to argue too much for new pve content. Sure I'd like to see new stuff but doesn't always seem like it would be a good use of dev time.

Eve has always been about making your own content, it's not WoW that spoon feeds you content (I recently started playing it with a friend).

Thats no excuse to keep the old PvE the way it is. PvE is mainly boring, because it's static and not dynamic.

If the dev time investment does not equate to a sufficient player gain or retention then that's all the excuse they need. There was a big push for the burner stuff but that seems to have been completely stopped in favor of the PvE events.

Draw your own conclusions.
