There's shiptoasting for a bit of idle amusement, and then there's violent expulsion of willfully ignorant or hateful nonsense that genuinely reflect the people involved or is designed to be a provocative insult simply to rile people up. This thread is an example of the former. The complaints about the IGS largely is about the latter. I'll leave it up to you to decide who or what personifies the latter the best.

This is actually amusing as opposed to the constant vitriolic nature of most "shiptoasting" as others have put it. Miz was correct and I think your issue is that you are still categorizing those two different types of post as 'the same thing' so as to be held to the same standard. They're very much different things because one involves personal attacks, interruption of others' threads, harassment, physical threats, etc while the other does not. Treating wildly dissimilar things similarly is as much an aberration of standards as treating similar things dissimilarly.

Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole. And this foundation must be defended.
