Unable to find PORPOISE ship fit

HI All,
I bought a PORPOISE about three weeks ago. I have all the skills to fly it. However, I am unable to find any ship fitting
for it. I am going to use it strictly for solo mining in hisec. I have checked evewiki web site for example of the fit. Until
now there is no fit sample.

Does anyone have a ship fit for it?

TBH, I'd suggest the procurer, rather than the porpoise, for solo mining. Higher yeild, better tank.

Yes, smaller ore bay, but unless you're mining AFK, that's not a problem.

The Porpoise is a mining support ship, rather than a mining ship. It just mines on the side, so you don't lose the entire yield of the person it's replacing.


For a bad porpoise fit:

You may want to swap out the AB for another drone navigation computer. or some more tank.

Mining drones do not have a MWD so will not benefit from the drone navigation computer. Park your ship as close to the rock you are harvesting as you can get.

They will benefit from the drone navigation and drone interfacing skills - plan them to level 5.
The normal T2 mining drones will not benefit from the mining drone specialization skill (yet) - only works for Excavator and Augmented at this time.

Fits are scarce because the ship has only existed for 2 weeks - people are still figuring it out. Your fit will vary depending on the security level of the space you intend to mine in. For highsec I would swap the drone navigation computer for a cargo scanner - help you plan your harvest. I'd also put a shield burst module instead of the remote booster for solo mining - you can boost yourself.

my mining drones go significantly faster with drone nav comps fit.

Cargo scanners are pointless for mining ships, you'd want a survey scanner

Drone Navigation computers certainly effect mining drones.

I just checked on sisi. Without one, my T1 Mining Drones go at 480m/s. with one, they go at 600m/s (The character I have isn't max skilled for them.)

Interesting. They don't have a MWD http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Drones#Mining_drones and the Drone Navigation computer is only supposed to increase MWD speed http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Drones#Mid-slot_modules Did CCP change something without telling us?!

Just a note to the OP, don't be afraid to fit a ship for yourself.

Fits on the internet might not be optimal for your use case so its often best to learn how to play around with fits .

That page say that salvage drone don't have a MDW too, but while I haven't checked the exact speed, they seem faster that heavy drones, while it say that they should be slower.

There isn't a multi-Porpoise fit suitable for everyone.

Add salt rigs & modules to taste.

Most fits you find online are going to take you a fair minute to skill to. For a fit you are going to use RIGHT NOW look at what purpose you want to put your ship to, and what skills you have right now.

For mining stock anything that would increase your drone speed/range/yield rate if possible. For defense look to what you are built for at the moment. If you have predominantly armor skills fit an armor tank of some kind. For shield fit a shield tank. It doesn't really matter in hi sec what tank is best for the ship because if you try fitting a shield tank with jack for skills it's going to be more useless than fiting an armor tank on a predominantly shield tank.

Look at your ships mission, and then go from there. This applies to anything your going to fly in a none combative role. That will get you an immediate fit, and then you can experiment with things as your skills increase. By all means reasearch, but don't be afraid to try things out that will benefit you now rather than letting your ship sit in a hangar and wait a week for skills to go up.
