has anyone had issues with missles or or rockets not registering hits?

i was in 1v1 where i clearly should have won even the guy who killed me couldnt figure it out, i had him scrammed and webbed at like 5000m but my rockets where not touching him at all, i was in a hawk ab fit and he in a coercer, yet at that range with him webbed and scrammed with my dps and tank plus my shield booster, he should have went boom, afterwards he asks me why i was not shooting when my rockets were blazing and overheated, the same thing happened once the other day with rlml not doing any damage to a frig, in that one i was outnumbered and going to lose anyway so locked up a frig and figured i would at least pop on but nothing at all happened i was launching and in range yet no damage at all, not like i couldnt break his shield, i mean like i was never even shooting him, filed a bug report but now i dont want to fly and risk losing ships when my turret just might or might not work.

now looking back the last few days a couple other fights i was in my opponent thought i was afk , i thought they were just screwing with me as we do in this game, but now im like maybe they thought that because to them i was not shooting?

If these are cases involving targets being near to your missiles' max displayed range, there is a known quirk of missiles "missing" randomly in such cases due to a synchronicity issue between client and server. The client thinks and claims you are in range, but the server thinks otherwise. Shoot at a structure at zero velocity near your range limit and you'll see what I mean; some shots will land, some wont, despite the conditions having never changed between salvos.

Yeah I get this issue at times, 39km range on precision, target 32km missile's not hitting, go figure.
You can get slight de-synch with server as already stated, at times. 0m from station but cant dock as not in range..mmm

Oh and I believe it was CCP who stated a long time ago the reason for this is missiles spend some time launching from the bays where turrets are instant with firing and range.

Missles = PvE
Turrets = PvP
