I've had this problem before and it tends to go away eventually but it only ever happens with eve. Usually I run 2 clients on medium settings and they both chug along fine at 60fps with no bother, but every now and again it starts doing this 30fps thing where the game will run at either 30 or 60 fps and alternate between them.

This only affects eve, every other game runs perfectly fine. Even if I run just 1 client it will either stick at 30fps and jump up to 60 and then jump back down repeatedly. It's set to interval one, the GPU is well able for the game so this is a softare / driver / eve issue I cannot find the solution to.

Are you running Nvidia, i know from experience the latest drivers suck arse with eve and i had to revert back to the older versionSad

No an AMD HD3850 with 3 gigs of GDDR5. I done a cache check and it removed a bunch of files and since then it's been fine, so I guess it was just some corrupted textures or something. Makes sense since the fps drops were usually when the camera was pointed in certain directions.
