Problem with ' Avenge a fallen comrade ' mission

I was in the mission area for the mission ' Avenge a fallen comrade ' where I have to destroy the pirate leaders habitat.
The habitat was about 50km away when the server shut down. Now when I go back there, its just empty space. The nearest object is an asteroid belt 3.5 AU away. I am at the beacon marker but there is nothing here. I have tried going back and forth to the agents station but there is nothing in the mission area (Uttindar) . My current location is between the Uttindar V orbit and the Uttindar VI orbit on the solar system map. Will I have to cancel the mission?
Can someone help?
Thanks

You can submit a support ticket. There is a special category for agent missions:

- Go to https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us
- Click on "Submit Support Ticket" on the right side
- In the "Select Type" dropdown box choose "Game Play Support"
- In the "Category" dropdown box choose "Game Play" and then "Agent Missions in Progress"

I don't know how long it takes to wait for a solution. I would look for another close agent in the meantime and continue missioning with that new agent.

If you are impatient you can just cancel the mission but you'll get a small standing hit with the agent and his corporation, normally not a desaster if you don't do that all over again. Good luck!

Open your mission journal and re-verify the objectives; if the mission is completed you'll see a green checkmark to the left of each objective. Based on that, you can talk to the agent to report success, or if not, you'll have to either:

- Fail the mission (you lose the same tiny amount of standings that you would have gained, and obv. don't get the mission rewards, but the agent will continue to give you missions).

- Or create a support ticket and hope that they contact you before the mission expires (you usually have several hours). If the mission expires it will count as failed.

What's happened may be a bug, but typically the mission location gets re-created after server reboot, unless the objectives have been completed.

Another possible solution is to wait 24 hours that will take you past a downtime and most missions will re-set during downtime.

Thanks for your help. I have submitted a ticket.
On other MMORPG games I would have just abandoned the mission (quest) then returned to the NPC to re-accept the mission.
I canceled another mission last week and found the mission was no longer available. So I now try to avoid canceling missions.

Missions are not available if:

- The agent is a Career agent; they stop talking to you if you refuse or fail a mission, BUT you can simply go to a different starter system and talk to the Career agent there. There are 12 starter locations.

- The mission is part of an epic arc, such as the Sisters of EVE one. The arc is repeatable every 3 months.

- The mission is a Storyline mission (these are offered by special agents after every 16 regular missions). The agent will offer you a mission again, after you do 16 more regular missions.

Otherwise, regular agent missions are just given out at random, and the agent will NOT stop talking to you if you refuse or fail one. Actually you can refuse one mission every 4 hours from each agent with no repercussions at all.
