Need some help with a Machariel PvP fit.

Not very sure how to do this, I am still rather new to PvP and will not be using this ship until I get better at PvP, it is simply docked in High Sec for now. I do however want to have it ready to go when I need it, but I need some help fitting this thing.

I am not using tech 2 tracking enhancers because there isn't enough CPU. Tech 2 turrets have the same DPS as these, and again, severely overload the CPU.
With this fit I currently get 891 DPS with 92k EHP, and about 40km range, however this will increase as some skills finish training.
I will sooner or later be adding faction and deadspace modules as I can afford them without breaking the bank, nothing insane, just the reasonably priced ones.
The MWD is only there for getting to places or away from places, it will be turned off in battle.
The Gecko's are there for when I need maximum DPS, the Hornets are for taking on faster targets, like frigates.

My question is, how can I fix my fit? The current problem is that the shield booster only lasts for 45 seconds, and when you add in that I have to shut it off early to keep my ward and invuln fields on, that goes down even more.
Is this fit alright for PvP? How can I improve it? Also, are there any faction or deadspace modules that are a must have that don't break the bank?

mmmmmm....................
you need t2 mods at least for the shield.

but........ leave battleships aside from a moment.
as you said you should start with smaller ships.
once you do that, then you'll know how to fit your battleship easily.

that said:
- for solo pvp an armor BS is better: you can fit warp disruptur/scram, web, cap booster etc, all things you need to track smaller stuff and to tank it and to tackle it
- for big fleets there will a doctrine to follow....

Yep this is a way better Mach pvp fit. Just note that you should consider any solo pvp ship as already lost so better flying ur pvp mach if u can truly afford losing it.

Note that you will have up to 10% more damage with tech 2 guns. You are right that they have the same base stats as meta 4 but your skill for using tech 2 will give you 10% more damage on level 5!

I would say 8%. I know a lot of pilots and not many invest the training time to get large auto cannon specialization from level 4 to level 5. Once you get it to 4 there are a lot better skilling investments out there. I bling up a gyro for that extra 2% damage and call it a day.
