Fleet jump...

Had a conversation with my buddy Ojore Itinen, we came up with an idea that the fleet commander should be able to jump the fleet through a star gate. Warping to a location in the system is great for the fleet boss, but I think the fleet boss being able to instead of broadcasting "warp to Jita" (for example) the fleet boss can just jump the fleet there. Use the fleet boss command to jump the fleet through the star gate, that way you're not waiting on your fleet members to jump through the star gate... they all should 'automatically' jump when they get to the star gate.

Just a thought. Big smile

I'd rather pilots were paying attention and playing the game than handing over more automation to fc.

Nope.

Keep responsibility to follow orders with the players... and command of alts in a fleet a pain in the ass.

Automation of this kind is no different that what ISBoxer provided... and that kind of "broadcast control" was banned.

And maybe add the ability to lock on to primary target for fleet members as well.... lol

No thanks. I think warping fleet members was primarily for alt accounts anyways...

One reason why fleet warping is allowable is because the only way it works instantly is if you are already aligned. This means you potentially could cancel it if you are not aligned and do not agree with your fleet commander. If you are sitting next to a gate though, there is no ability to cancel after it has been initiated and so no 'player choice' comes into the equation.

The ability to disobey orders is as important for your character as the skill to be able to follow them.

Put a message box and a countdown on top of the ability to fleet jump and I would consider it.

ffs how much less do you want the individual pilot responsible for? fleets need less automation not more

The other thing about fleet warp is that sharing locations in eve is rather clunky.

You can't warp to a friends bookmark (like a mission), he MUST warp you there. So unless you like having to send one guy in first like a canary, fleet warp needs to stay.
