I've actually been wondering; with all sig rez at 40m does the new tracking formula make large guns track smaller ships better.

especially in falloff, where the disparity between sig rad and sig rez was amplified.

#1 - 40km, not 40m - so if that was how it worked we would just not be able to hit anything.....ever.
#2 - No. The sig. res. number is now meaningless and irrelevant.

#2 Sig resolution is just as important as it always was. The only difference is instead of guns having varying signature reslotions based on weapon size they now all have the same signature resolution so that less math is involved when making comparisons between weapons of varying sizes.

Umm donna...Players use tracking when they run pve as well. Especially with the new much faster rats. (fyi there is a lot more to this forum than pvp vs pve)

The old rad/s was useful when used alongside information from the overview. WAS isn't.

Just came back to the game and this caused me a bit of confusion - I knew turret tracking could not be in rad/s anymore as the values were much too high.

I initially thought that they'd converted this to deg/s - although the numbers didn't seem to stack up - and wondered at still having the overview in rad/s.

Anyhow, a forum search discovered the truth.

As others have said, I'd still like to see the old stats of tracking speed and signature restored to the module information, in addition to the new parameter. To me, the new parameter makes some sense - it lets me see the relative difference between gun systems quickly - which is good, but you could get that from the previous tracking speed and sig resolution numbers anyway - just define it and leave it there.

Also, it looks to me that drone tracking information is presented in the old format (or at least I hope so...), e.g. for an acolyte II :

Tracking 2.988 (rad/s?)
Signature resolution 25 m
Tracking rating = 4780

Otherwise it's Tracking speed (rad/s) = WAS / 40000 * 25 = 2.988 / 40000 * 25 = .001 rad/s

At the very least, consistency needs to be applied to the information presented.
