need help with math ty Cool


resistance apply to the DD right?
so if i have the same type of resistance of the dd i should be able to mitigate it's damage right?

presuming dd lvl 5, aka 1.500.000 raw damage on the single target dd and a resistance of 87.2%
shouldn't the damage be reduced of 1.500.000 x 0,872 = 1.308.000
aka i'll receive 192.000 raw damage?

Yeah it should but there seems to be some magic going on with this and I did investigate that for a bit a few years ago.

The first capital I could sit in was the Chimera and we all know SiSi and poof goes the Chimera with a doomsday. Now I was curious about the doomsday and I played with that on eft and on SiSi to make a fit that would not be one-shot with a doomsday.

A few years back the damage of a level doomdays was 5 million hp thermal or em because armor titans. I made a fit that in theory has 92% thermal resistance and if my math would have been correct, 8% of 5 million is still 400.000 hp but instead of going into low shield hp, I was at 43% armor.

On the fitting screen my shield hp was around 530.000 when the erebus hit my overheated thermal hardener II.

To this day I still cannot really tell how this works.

yea i'm being in the same situation more or less.
trying to figuring it out.

for example, using pyfa and the same example:

DPS with no resistance: 5000 - 5000*300sec (cooldown) = 1.500.000 - all good
DPS with resistance (87,2): 995 - 995*300sec= 298.500

when it should be 192.000

assuming that pyfa is right, that's more or less +55% Shocked
