Returned and at a loss for what to do with myself.

So it has been a long time since I played and I decided to return with alpha clones, which means a lot of my skills are unusable sadly but oh well.
So I decided to take stock in what I have,

Ships: Exequror, rifter, bellicose, rupture, primae, probe, hoarder, breacher, and a vexor I cannot use(I'll miss my salvage and drone boat)

I also have a bunch of jury rigging blueprints, some probe and drone blueprints, all rank one. And lots of other random junk I have collected, stasis webifiers, bombs for some reason, random funs, missles, ammo, and minerals.

As far as skills go those might be more of a pain to list but, probably production, resource processing, and drones are my best skills, drones would be if it wasnt alpha status haha.

I was originally in a corp of about 3 people. A friend who liked the game but had a 56k connection so couldnt really do combat spent most of his time in highsec playing the commodities market and funding me and another friend.

I spent most of my time doing one of two things really, either exploring(lost my cheetah to early stupidity in low sec hacking) and making jury rigged parts. I honestly hate switching ships so I would take a vexor load it with drones, go to near by ratting areas, release the drones from a safe distance and slowly make my way to the middle, by which point everything is dead.
I would then tractor everything to me like I am a miniature black hole, loot and salvage.

I guess I drone because I am not entirely interested in combat.

TL;DR I am looking for help deciding what to do to get back into the swing of the game. I am stuck with minmatar ship so I am not really set for droning. But I wouldn't mind getting back into crafting, selling, transporting, etc. But it has been so long I am kind of lost.

Well, a lot has changed. Now there are Mobile Tractor Units that you can buy that will automatically tractor and loot wrecks. So you can start a mission and drop it in the room and let it do it's thing. This can cut down a bit on the switching ship need.

Some things to consider. If you like drone ships better, play Gallante or Amarr with your alpha account, or even make a new one. The New tutorial gives an 80k skill injector and depending on how long you were gone, the starting skill points is a lot higher. You can even recruit yourself with the invite friend tool and get an extra 250k sp. -just don't activate the extra sp until you complete the tutorial. The new meta sorta encourages making new accounts if you enjoy playing the standard ships of another race. It should only take a few months to max an alpha account too.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

There is so many different things that you can do with regards to the market it is hard to just say try trading. However if you don't care much for combat there is quite a bit that you can do in this game. Of course if you want to get heavy into it you'll have to re-sub as the alpha limitations do limit what you can train in market and production skills fairly heavily.

I believe the alpha clone thing was intended more for trying out the game but certainly if you are satisfied with the alpha clone you can play indefinitely that way. CCP does promote Eve as an open world, single shard, sandbox, PvP game. So the alpha clones seem to be better equipped for frigate combat than anything else.

That being said I'm pretty sure alpha's can train some PI. You can get into manufacturing. There is the various types of trading that can be done which are numerous enough that you'll just have to get into it to find out more if that is your thing. Of course you know about exploration.

From the sound of your post not only do you not have a clue what to do but you seem to also not have much interest so I'm not really sure what to tell you. Best thing that I can think of is try a bit of everything, even the stuff that you don't think that you will like. Try everything and do more of what you like and less of what you don't.

Just as a side note if you get good enough at trading you could pay for game time with isk. I've heard PI can pay pretty well outside of high sec also.

I thought about turning my rupture or belicose into some kind of combi combat/salvage ship.

Maybe i will try some courier runs or seeing if i can transport some goods for profit....after i figure out why my hoarder has a cloaking device on it

Also silly question since it had been awhile, would putting a probe launcher on an indy be stupid, i figure using it to scan for enemy ships to check for possible ganks might be helpful

Welcome back.

As Minmatar your drone support skills are very limited but you can still fly 5 light drones in a Bellicose or Scythe FI. Either ship can handle level 2 missions - my preferred weapon is the rapid light missile launcher - which I believe is new since you last played. The Gnosis battlecruiser is also available to Alphas and it is perfectly capable of running level 3 missions.

You can still build T1 rigs and it's still a good business. Alpha skills give you 4 production queues and 13 market orders. Engineering Complexes are starting to show up with substantial bonuses for production and low taxes. Use the facilities tab in the industry tool to find one near you.

Exploration works for Alphas. https://www.eve-scout.com/signal-cartel/ is the place to be for that career path.

Distribution missions are open to Alphas. If you have Minmater standing, you can run level 4's in a Wreathe - fit enough cargo rigs/mods to hold 8K M3.

Lots of options but you need to decide which path(s) to follow.
