You haven't won EVE until you've stolen our wallets too.

The day you broker a collateralized ransom of a supercapital fleet, and then run off with a trillion ISK or more - that will be the day you will earn my respect forever.

It is so disappointing when they just vanish into the annals of EvE history, to be mostly forgotten.

Anything they might have achieved is made completely irrelevant.

If you already assume we are scammers without looking at what we offer objectively, go ahead and F*** off.

Thank you, that is all.

Thinking back, wasn't there some question about Darknesss' reliability very early on in his career as a third party. I seem to remember reading around 2009/2010 something about him stealing an AT ship he was acting as the third party for. The ship had been stolen from its original owner and Darknesss then stole it from the thief. Anyone else recall this or am I confusing Darknesss with someone different?

This is something I find interesting. While IRL financial products/engineering have been getting more and more complex, in EVE, things have been progressively trending towards 'safer/simpler', to the point that now 100%+ collateral against ISK loan is pretty standard and no complicated multi layered checks and arrangements are necessary (it would actually look pretty fishy now if anyone tried a complex financial investment involving multiple party audits and such lol).

Having done a simple loan with one person (I gave her collateral, she loaned me ISK, I paid back+ interests and got my collateral back) and doing a bond now (Chribba holding collateral with multiple investors chipping in) within past few months period, I think value of the Third Party is exceptionally important now. I asked for advice from MD people when I was starting my bond and the most of the advices given was that keep it as simple as possible, get a third party everyone can trust and it will be filled easily, no need to make things complicated. And it worked out to be true when I took these advices to heart. Chribba + full collateral + standard interest, and my bond got filled much quicker than I imagined.

If the third party involved is 'questionable' to some people though, I'd imagine it would be a lot harder to arrange such things.

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

I flew with D for almost 2 years back when Tri were the badasses of Eve and... if his character wasn't sold... wow. If it's the same person, something took a great leader to a position of bitter and cynical. Considering the moon goo we pillaged, I can't believe the isk flipped made much difference to his wallet balance.

Darknesss posted a little over a year ago that he was disengaging from the game and trying to replace his own third-party status with that of successors. It may be that he carried on but got burnt out or it may be that he disengaged from the game and cut his emotional ties with the community. Both have led to scams before from seemingly solid people because it is much easier to scam people in 'that game I used to play' than it is when you are still heavily involved in it.

That scam hurts chribba's image as well, no matter if he wants that or not. 3rd party services will become eve history sooner than we think the more keepstars will pop up in space. Be cautious. Those who are/were heavily involved in 3rd partying might leave the boat with some good prey. I do not exclude any well known celebrity here. Just be cautious.

I would think 3d party services are still needed, for example for inter-alliance deals which can invole a lot of ISK, or for bonds here in MD.

Well I had the option to run off with between 500-600b on a recent deal. But for me my name and reputation is worth so much more than that. But it might also be connected to my rl work and upbringing.
I just hope that the guy who lost his ISK is not taking it too hard.

I'd take that level of isk lost pretty hard, regardless of my actual wealth as even the top 5% of eve would take a hit on that.

rep is an odd thing, i mean, he obviously wanted to cash out, or maybe it was personal and his wealth is high enough to take the hit, i eagerly await his update.
