Needing a cool "rare monster" icon or artwork around these NPC spawns like "shadow serpentis" and all the other ones. Maybe like a gold border or something simple to distinguish "visually" that I'm about to kill something juicy.

Clue is in the name, the bounty, and the HP.

Pay attention instead of asking for imports from wow.

You're right, looking at a spreadsheet is more appealing to new players.

Great idea +1

If you need to remind players EVE is a pvp game, there may be an underlying problem rooted so deeply you tend to ignore the obvious.

People resistant to a little UI improvement for the sake of what exactly?

I wouldn't be opposed to having some rarity name color or symbol something for the overseers or burners or whatever other special dudes, like the new NPCs have diamonds in front of their name so you know they play by somewhat different rules.

Knowing straight up which guy CHEATS AT EWAR RESISTANCE should be a simpler thing for new players to know, and reading a webpage about the site shouldn't be a prereq to knowing what the triggers are. This is not a player skillset thing. There is no player skill involved in properly running a mission or site. You either look it up on a website or figure it out through process of elimination. The difference between those two players is that one of them probably lost a few spaceships in the process.

The wiki-ification of MMOs changes the entire design space. Players shouldn't be expected to consult exterior tools to reach generally even footing with each other at similar playtimes and skill levels. Something like this is a good idea for the same reason that sim fitting was a good idea. It changes nothing about the actual gameplay other than making it less reliant on external tools for less experienced players.

Until we can get rid of said bullshit predictable and boring PvE in favor of more dynamic systems like the new mining ops I don't see a reason not to give that clarity aside from "Well I had to learn the names of all the NPCs and memorize the triggers for every site so you should too"

You know they show up differently in the 'type' column too, right?

And since they have different types I believe you can make them appear differently in the overview already. I know you can do this with overseers; less sure on faction rats.

But seriously, unless you're popping an overseer on, say, a 5/10 where you have ~60 other red blinky things they tend not to be hard to pick out. (Yes, thank you for asking, I do have a tab for overseers.)

While not against the OP (even though reading the names of the NPCs does the trick, so this isn't really that necessary) I agree that currently EVE relies too much on third party sites. The in-game simulator was a good addition, but there are a lot of other things that could be added. The ore chars. The NPC damage, resistance and EWAR charts. The market price comparison. Faction items should give you a list of corporations, which LP stores are selling that specific item. These are just a few things I see no reason to not be available without suspending the game play for 5-30 minutes to search them on the net.

If you want an intelligent argument, please do, I'm up for it!

But if you want a trolling contest, I will win it by simply not participating.
