I haven't been very active for about 4 months. Basically just setting skill training. I noticed I was charged a three month renewal on November 12th. Well, oops. I knew I had a bunch of skills training so I just now decided to log in and check my skills. Imagine my surprise to find my carefully designed avatars to be gone. I threw a quick face together just to log in and check skills, and imagine again my surprise in finding my skills weren't training from before. I have no idea how long ago this reset was, but I'm upset I was basically paying to let my skills training until I could come back and it wasn't happening.

But the biggest issue is this. I got on to cancel my subscription. Yet I find Everything is now free to play? They just charged me a THREE MONTH SUBSCRIPTION ON NOV 12 FOR A GAME THAT'S NOW FREE TO PLAY!

Am I missing something?

Game is not free to play, there's a free option with limitations. Research it, you'll find all your answers in 10 minutes max. TL;DR is you still have to pay if you want access to most of your skills.

For the rest, if you file a support ticket the GMs are usually known to sort these things out, especially the non-training part. They'll probably give you unallocated skill points (though they're not obliged to).

All subscription plans are auto-renewing by default, I believe. Again, if there was a mistake file a support ticket.

Consider that there have been many new players since EVE went 'slightly free-to-play', so support tickets could take a while (a few weeks if you're unlucky).

I'm guessing I missed the drop of some massive patch in the last 4 months that required going back through the character creator. I'm more upset I'll be paying a subscription through January on a game that's currently free to play.

Well, CCP could have emailed all subscribing accounts, saying

'are you sure you still want to stay subscribed, now that there is an option to play for free with limitations?'

but...

no sane business should ever do anything like that! Big smile

RollRollRoll

The only thing you've been doing with your account is training skills... which is heavily restricted under the free to play model.

Not all, there are a few payment options that or non recurring. Most, including paying by credit card, are though.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Not sure what happened to your character portrait, but regarding the other issues, I suggest opening up a support ticket. Our GMs should be able to help out.

Your subbed accounts should have continued training as before.

If you had them auto-subbed, then you received what you paid for.

EVE is now limited F2P.

Depending on your character/account setup, you may have lost some small potential for 1/2 rate SP accruement on your very low, very specific skill training according to Alpha restrictions, had you not subbed them, but these are negligeable and since you where subbed anyways before you noticed the change, you ultimately lost nothing.

If youve changed your mind about the SP training you earned before you moticed the CCP change, you can buy a Skill Extractor at a small expense to yourself, and re-apply that to the same or another character according to your plans. Its about 250mil, whixh though an additional expense, is not insurmountable. (Or sell the resulting Skill Injector on the market for roughly 380mil profit in isk)

Dont worry. You got what you paid for. You didnt lose out on anything at all.
Carry on with no regrets. But do familiarize yourself with the difference between Alpha/Omega now that you are back.

Open a ticket, as the dev said.

You're reporting 2 conflicting things:

1. You got charged for a subscription which should have kept your account Omega / subscribed.

2. But the interrupted skill queue sounds like your account went inactive, which YES interrupts your skill queue and reduces it to whatever fits in a day.

The other stuff you're complaining about, we all got:

- CCP replaced our character sheet pictures with a slightly animated gif of our head, looking off to the left, and blinking sometimes.
- Game is free to play, but NOT "everything" like you're ranting; rather, the Alphas (free to play accounts) are severely limited.

So chill, and open a ticket about the discrepancy with being charged and interrupted skill queue. People have had issues in the past and CCP has been quite willing to refund skillpoints that were lost.

yeah, CCP can help solve issus. But also keep in mind that CCP can ban your account and zero your wallets for whatever reasons they see fit, any time, and they have the legal right to do so, and you will never have the right to claim anything back. ;)

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!
