Hello,

Let's say CCP created a RMT platform where all players could trade assets for actual money.

Pros:

CCP could tax all transfers with real money and have extra income from this.
Players can actually make money while playing.
Loads of new players will be attracted to this game.

Cons:

Inflation / deflation of prices.

Let's assume CCP does this and only allows omega players to participate in RMT.
For CCP it doesn't matter how much or what is traded since every player has to pay for their game time (with real money) anyway... More players is more $$$ So CCP will see their income rise.

Before everybody starts their usual low IQ flame war under this post, yes i am a richer then average player and would benefit from this.

CCP get 100% of the value when they sell a plex.

Pretty much this. Why would they allow any form of RMT when they get 100% of the value of each plex sold. Any other system would see them lose money

Yes, and more players to the game means more plex sold.

If ccp generates a plex they make 100%. When it is traded again they make extra tax on the same plex, so the value of the plex for them goes up.

Is it that difficult?

No. This is not that kind of game. The in-game economy is hard enough to balance as it is without some spoiled brat with a trust fund coming in and taking it over one sunday afternoon.

This will turn eve into business for some players, or give incentives to take it as such. If I could cash out my ISK from EVE into RL currency every month, I probably don't take it as a 'game' anymore, and try squeeze as much ISK out of the game each month. If many players started playing the same way, on larger scale and in groups, you will probably feel the effect even if you, as an individual, only play eve for fun. In general, a lot of 'lulz' will disappear from the game over long term.

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

Yeah but it doesn't work like that.

So you buy 10 plexes, CCP make 100% revenue from those plexes.

A few months down the line you make a lot of isk and want to sell it for RL money. So you buy plexes of the market with the isk you earned.

Plexes which other people have purchased, plexes which CCP made 100% revenue from.

Now if you want to sell those plexes for RL money unless your proposed tax is equal to what ever money CCP makes from selling plexes then it will be a loss for CCP.

Your "cons" list is woefully incomplete.

Cons:

- CCP would have to customer support, investigate, and refund scam transactions, which would be a monumental effort.
- Who pays taxes, and to whom? It's RL money, the various governments will want their taxes, they'll want to audit, and they'll want to find no fraud / scamming.
- CCP would have to control illegitimate RMT, which is impossible with lax rules like "well, this RMT is ok but this RMT is not."
- Various electronic transaction systems will have to be integrated into the game at a per-item level, which requires technology, expertise, man-hours, and debugging.
- There's no point to it; CCP already gets money from sales of PLEX, AUR, EVE Store swag, and game subscriptions.
