Attempting Level 4s in a Cyclone

Hi, I have had decent success with running lvl2s in a Slasher and lvl3s in a Rupture, though I have now switched to a Cyclone for the level 3s, because Blockade, Space Telescope and efficiency/fun. My question: is using a BC in level 4s practicable? I would be using eve survival so would decline blockade or missions where you get dropped right on the swarm and mostly fighting Guristas, which is nice. Will I get pointed and blown up?

I've 11m SP and running T1 Heavy missiles/2x720mm on a T2 active shield tank, two hardeners atm. T1 drones.

Any thoughts welcome.

I know the command BCs, such as the Claymore and Sleipnir can do them, however for T1 I am not sure.

the drake used to be able to do them but those days are kinda gone, its nor more efficient, as for the cyclone, i think you are much better of upgrading to a bs for clear spead and tank, cause it will take you a long time to clear some pockets and you might not survive them due to sig radius of bcs. If you do go out and do them share your experience with us :D but i suggest upgrade, better safe then sorry :D

I think, it might be doable. It will be tough and take some time and therefore be a challenge. But it could be doable.

As you already said, you should look at eve survival and pay attention for triggers. Also try to kill elite frigates asap. You should also try to run a afterburner as long as possible for some kind of speed tanking.

it depends why you run missions. if its for isk, standings or similar. i think youre better off staying with lv3

a hurricane can run lv4 probably but i would imagine it will be slow and ultimately less efficient than a lv3. stick with lv3 and train up battleship or t2 ship skills

if youre just doing it for the hell of it- go for it- i heard some lv4 can be done in a t2 frig

Damage is still anemic for L4s (373). Tank is barely adequate (295 uniform). Range is pretty meh (31.5). It would complete some -- maybe even most -- L4s but it would take forever. If you want to fly a Cyclone, stick to L3s. If you want to do L4s in a Minmatar missile ship then get a Typhoon.

Obviously I'm going for range (59k) over the HAM rate of fire etc

The HAM fit implies having the ability to run the LSB constantly with both hardeners AND the AB.

I would not be able to maintain that with mine, I pulse it obviously

I am skilling towards Typhoon but not there yet, nor do I have enough isk to do it right yet.

maybe it could function, but the 373 dps from zhilia reminds me on my old days with the drake in lvl 4. you will not have fun. time to complete is sooooo meh

instead of a typhoon maybe switch to a tengu. can deliver over 1000 dps is a tankmonster and you can stay with hams. but this is only my advise.

Sure you could but it be a pain some missions you could blitz and other you wouldn't be able to do because you dont have enough dps other because lack of tank. And it'll be slow going you would make more isk/lp just doing 3's really fast.

I've done it with a passive drake which can fit a better tank then most BS but the dps just sucks, with 2 people its not bad.

I would suggest you wait till you can fly a BS, even with a BS it'll be rough going till you got all yer support/weapon skills up ...

i tried a complete shield passive Cyclone (MWD, DC, 4 Large Extenders and 3 Shield Extender rigs).
tank was enough for 11 nps BS with support but it takes a lot of time to finish L4 mission.

yea, interceptors are best for Recon and Cargo Delivery.
and you can use nothing bigger than a frg for agent and team burners.

for that you only need a slasher bth.recon 1-3 and cargo are no prob with that since years.
