Quote:
A scam is what happens when someone takes advantage of a players misplaced trust, temporary confusion or ignorance of game rules, and robs players via legal in-game means. When this occurs, there is nothing the Support Team can do for the victim. Although low and despicable, scams do not violate any game mechanics and can not be compensated for by the GMs, nor can the scammers generally be punished for their actions.

However, scams that affect areas outside of the game may not be tolerated in the same manner, such as, but not limited to:

Scams involving Character Transfers, mainly via the Character Bazaar where scamming is explicitly forbidden
Scams mimicking services provided by CCP while providing modified data via third party websites
Scams using exploits (fake or existing)
Scams involving the "PLEX for Good" campaigns

Bullshit. You totally planned to go down this road, from the moment you decided to outrage-repost a Reddit thread in General Discussion (for maximum visibility) in order to troll until someone mentioned scams, so you could spew your opinion forth and create more controversy / drama.

EDIT: You're probably him, trying to drum up publicity. 320b doesn't even begin to approach the fame of the Great Thefts of EVE Past.

CCP made an actual eve vid that was all about someone stealing all the assets of a large alliance via similar means.

I hope it's not true. If it is CCP should reevaluate their, "HaHa you got scammed" policy!

Doesn't matter. He freely gave that isk, and now it's gone. Scam is legit, regardless of where the in-game money came from.

Just because CCP allows it doesn't mean that it's, "legit". Scamming is wrong and should not be allowed.

*I have never been scammed, so don't go down that road.

Wrong on all accounts. Just getting the word out to protect potential future victims.

Fortunately, I've only used Chribba as a third party.

In before dev post "We re-evaluated our policy and determined it's fine."

LOL

"Although low and despicable, scams do not violate any game mechanics and can not be compensated for by the GMs, nor can the scammers generally be punished for their actions."

When i read "low and despicable" i see the guy writing it laughing to himself because he would do the same in game, but he have to pretend to be decent.

I've heard that if you repeatedly rub your Eve wallet it gets bigger. (I've never ever done this, so I'm not sure if it works).

Not sure about that.
I only know about the easter egg where you get 1B ISK after 10k ship spins... is this feature still active or was it only limited to the Crucible expansion?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

If OP was scammed as a result of someone impersonating the 3rd party via intentional name mis-spelling, they have violated the TOS and and petition should be initiated.

To clarify, the scamming was not a problem. Only the impersonation.

There was no impersonation. Where did you get that idea?

I would be sad if a scammee got off on some sort of technicality. There needs to be some sort of ethics code here. If the scammer goes down as an impersonator I would hope CCP would have the moral decency to donate the already given away funds to..... oh I don't know..... the C&P thunderdome foundation. The foundation is a mainstay of this forum and it would be a worthy repository for all such impounded isk.

For those that have never heard about the foundation - it's a pool of assets that are handed out ad-hoc to thunderdome participants for various acts of valor, cunning and what not. Here are the members of it's steering committee.

It's still in game. It does not work in citadels or outposts - only NPC stations. After crucible it was limited to one time per CHARACTER (so I think rerolling characters still works, but I haven't personally verified)
