Sweep thingy

After jumping through gates, I notice a visible 'sweep thingy' that goes over my screen. I originally thought that this was gate cops scanning my ship for contraband or whatever, however I also notice the same effect after jumping through a wormhole.

What is it?

Its your system scanner, scanning for complexes.

Well that's interesting because I don't get the same effect if I manually scan.

Its not your DScan. Its the System scan that lights up all your Anomalys in Space. You only see this effect when jumping or undocking.
