It's a fair standpoint, to be honest. No matter my loyalties or personal standpoints, I have waived the right to be taken seriously should I speak them given my current employer and it's not an unreasonable standard either. Of course, it's not like anyone of note will actually hold it against you Pieter, since it's pretty much the way of things these days to disregard any uncomfortable association for convenience's sake.

It's just so gosh darn unreasonable to take flags wrapped tightly around someone as some sort of affiliation, adherence or approval, isn't it?

Makoto, are you just trolling everyone? Now even adding me into your drama you started with Diana. That's not my business what you have with her, but it is obvious it is you who are making this discussion about her, then claim that it she does, and then ask to make discussion about Pieter, when she was discussing him before you popped out. That's just straightforward dumb, Makoto. Your games with me won't pass.

Diana's points were actually quite solid and the facts she presented were provided by Rote members themselves. After Pieter's choice of employer, not just Kaalakiota, but even Ishukone with Hyasyoda would revoke his citizenship. Becoming a Rote member is even worse than putting a Templis Dragonaur sign on your chest.

You can call things 'nonsense' as much as you want, Makoto. But if you wail and flail your hands they won't disappear just because you said so. You will just make yourself look silly.

But here's the thing, Mika. Neither you nor Diana dictate to Kaalakiota. I've already disavowed Rote Kapelle, I'm not sure what more I'm supposed to do. As for Rote being a terrorist organisation, if my Corporation's CEO has not been charged as an enemy of the Empire, then why in the Maker's name would I be charged by The State for second-hand terrorism?

You're talking about being guilty by association to someone who has been judged NOT guilty by association.

I despise such phenomenon as a guilt by association. I strongly believe that we shall answer for our deeds, and not for others who stay in your organization. If it was Seraphim who has committed a terror act from the name of the Rote Kapelle, it doesn't make you terrorist just for being in Rote Kapelle because, yes... because you didn't participate in this yourself.

On the other hand, reaction to the behavior of your associates, your leaving or joining the corporation are your deeds, and for them you shall answer.

I repeat again, joining a terrorist organization like Rote won't make you a terrorist and nobody will judge you in being a terrorist or in participation in assasination attempt on Her Majesty.. But we will judge you being an enemy of the State, since you have voluntarily joined an alliance that openly declared its hostilily.

And of course for deserting the warzone. Leaving while we need every pilot and every ship to liberate Black Rise is very disloyal act.

As for "disavowing" Rote... you ARE member of Rote, you are part of them. If you really want to disavowe them - tear off their insignia, spit on it and step on it. While you are a member of the organization, such "disavowals" are nothing but a farce.

The hillarious thing is that I joined Tyrathlion out of a desire NOT to stand directly with either SERAPH or ARC but instead to maintain my independence between them. I suppose that I should have thought harder about the fact that Tyrathlion is nominally a part of the Rote Kapelle alliance.

To vacuum with it. If you can get Oritsuu to publicly disavow me then, maybe, you can say I'm no longer a citizen. I know some of you have just been aching to do that since FOREVER because, apparently, you're far more interested in other people's lives than your own.

Before you have me hung drawn and quartered maybe you should give me the benefit of the doubt. If you catch me actually flying with a Rote fleet, if you see any kill of mine that is of a State or Empire flagged ship, then people might pay more attention to your claims.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I don't know about ARC, I don't know about SERAPH, I don't know about their relations and that's not my freaking business.

But I know that the State is at war. I know that half of Black Rise and half of our Homeworld is still occupied. I know that billions are suffer under gallente occupation. I know that we lack ships and pilots to liberate our lands. I know that we need every damn pair of hands here, in the warzone, to fight the real enemy that kills Caldari, and not just waves big gun somewhere.

Also I know that Rote Kapelle publically declared the Empire as enemy. And also I know that Caldari State is the military ally of Amarr Empire. And I know that it makes Rote Kapelle enemy as well.

I would need to catch you with a Rote fleet if you would be a neutral pilot to them if I felt to blame you being with Rote. But now I don't need it - because you damn are wearing their damn signs!

I am not going to blame star in being bright or water in being wet. I know that you are with Rote and I know that it was your choice.

I just don't know why you would choose them instead of State.

This conversation is depressing. It shouldn't have happened. And to end this, I'll just say, that I am frustrated, angered, annoyed and... disappointed. And that's what I wanted to say.
Very deeply disappointed.

Shame on you.

With due respect, Tuulinen-haan, I think you give more credence to Kim than very nearly anyone else does. She will speak ill of you, of anyone, despite their records, their intent, their action, if their views do not perfectly align with hers. Consider how she ranted when you spoke ill of Heth-guri, consider how easily she dismisses the loss of stations and supercapital assets to recent Drifter strikes.

I understand that you consider her loyalty and combat record laudable; they are, after all. However, she is easily the most virulently bigoted and delusional of the pilots on the IGS, and I'd contend that you, too, should put her out of mind.

Perhaps you're right. It distresses me beyond measure to disregard the words of a pilot whose record of long service I have always respected her for, but the truth is that I do not need the constant criticism and undermining.

I have, as I always have and will, been completely transparent about my motivations for the actions I've taken. That should really be my final word on the matter.

I think Pieter, as a former officer of the law, recognizes that the crime of treason is a function of the law and until charges are laid by the Corporate Attorney of Kaalakiota and warrant filed by a judge then any allegation of treason remains just that: an allegation. Completely devoid of any authority or remit of substance.

The Amarr Empire is at war with an enemy a thousand times worse than the Gallente Federation or Minmatar Tribes. Empress Catiz socialized with both President Roden and Sanmatar Shakor at her coronation. I do not fear a war with states ruled by people our Empress drinks with. Whatever the disagreements there might be between the Empire and the Federation and the Tribes, they are not an existential threat. Sanmatar Shakor didn't assassinate Empress Catiz in a suicidal attack.

The Drifters murdered Empress Jamyl.

They invaded the Empire, not just low security systems that were barely populated, but core systems, heavily inhabited. They killed millions. Millions. They operate with impunity to interdiction. If the Empire has to, we can blow the gates between the Tribes and the Federation and ourselves. It would be a horrible step, but we can do it. The Drifters can make wormholes at will and appear at will.

The Drifters Murdered Empress Jamyl.

The Holy Amarr Empire has declared a total war against the Drifters. There is no artificial framework for this. There is no CONCORD oversight. There is only the clash of metal and energy. So far, I estimate that I have killed over a thousand Drifters battleships myself since this war started. Still, they were able to mount another attack. This last attack was complicated, synchronized across the cluster. If any other navy had performed this sort of operation, with massive simultaneous attacks across multiple regions, we would be aghast, stop what we were doing and go fight. I used to be a member of the Imperium's Skyteam. If I had even proposed such an operation, I would have been yelled at. The Drifters savaged a supercapital taskforce from each empire. Number of Leviathan-class titans killed: Gallente: 1 ; Drifters 1. (This is for Strike Commander Kim's consideration specifically.)

The Drifters. Murdered. Empress Jamyl.

As far as I am concerned, Tuulinen-haan is on liaison duty with the Amarr Empire, which is the Caldari State's ally, as has been said. He is assisting in a bitter war that we might not win. There are dark days ahead. We will need hope and strength to get through. We will need pilots of skill and resolve. We will need pilots like Pieter in fleets.

The Drifters. MURDERED. Empress Jamyl.

I'm happy to have Pieter in my fleets. I'm happy to know that he's flying with ARC; they need all the good pilots they can get. It also means more Drifters dead. Let me tell you, anything that results in more dead Drifters--I'm a huge fan. The sooner we exterminate them the better. A respect for following proper legal procedures and protocols should be considered a quality for every citizen, my dear.

The IGS is not a court room, personal or public opinion do not constitute evidence, and no capsuleer here has any authority or jurisdiction to pass legal judgement over any other because of the extralegal status every capsuleer operates under which makes any discussion of the law, such as treason, a moot point.

Mr Tuulinen is a very capable pilot, I am happy to hear he is directing his abilities towards the Drifter threat.

That said, I would have liked to see him associate himself with a group less tainted than Tyrathlion Interstellar. While his statements of intent are noted, they can only go so far. I will not agree with Peregrinans Jenneth's assessment of "Pfft" regarding the assassination attempt of Empress Catiz I. Some in the Empire may feel so flippantly, but there are those of us that take attacks against our sovereign quite seriously by a group who professes that Empress Catiz I and the Empire represent the antithesis to their beliefs and ideals.

Strike Commander Kim, I can sympathize with you about the state of the war zone and your desire to have as many pilots as possible. There is a limit to the damage that can be done there, however. It is not a pleasant thing to acknowledge, but that is the matter of things. Mr Tuulinen may very well be preventing the deaths of State leadership by leaving the war zone and focusing on the Drifter threat. I do not know how Caldari feel about their leaders, but I am confident that a majority of Amarr would have gladly given their lives to prevent to death of Empress Jamyl. Even now, if it took the collective deaths of a quarter of the Empire to save Empress Catiz I I feel we would do so if it was within our power. I cannot say if it is virtuous in the State, but speaking as Amarr, I can say that is how we would see it. You are clearly called to remain to protect your citizens, Mr Tuulinen appears to have been called elsewhere.

Your Ladyship!

Caldari State doesn't have a unified leadership. We are a union of eight independent Megacorporations with separate Leadership. Our structure has been made to be resilient. We can lose leadership or a whole Megacorporation, but we will remain active and efficient. Even if all megacorporate leadership will disappear, next in the line will pick up our flag from the cold hands and will raise it above our hands. Our Leadership is CEO of our Megacorporation, and a CEO is just another worker. Imporant, but still a worker of the Megacorporation.

They are Caldari, and I will die for them. But those, who just work on colonies, those who work in spaceships, they are all Caldari too. They are keep dying because of this war, because Gallente occupy systems and genocide colonists. Because they are fighting for their homes and protecting what they have earned with honest labor. Are they worse than CEO who sit in comfy chairs and manage numbers in spreadsheets? Everyone must do their part. And our job is defending citizens of Caldari State, will it be CEO, manager, dock worker or a MTAC operator. They are all Caldari. All of them.

I was born in a practical corporation, and I will judge the situation as a practical. From one side we have Drifters, who are known to kill leaders, who attack military facilities and possess weapons that exceed our. But on other hand we have Federals (and Republic). They might not have weapons greater than us. Their soldiers might not be as well prepared and as strong as ours. They might drink tea with our leaders. But they MURDER millions of Caldari daily!

I can't say I can save them all. But if I kill another occupant, maybe I will save a whole colony. Maybe I will save just one building. Or just one ship that they could have killed. Or maybe just one man. And it doesn't matter if he will be a leader, a CEO or a janitor. What does matter, is that he is someone's father, and someone's son. And today... he will return home.

This is what we shall fight for. This is the difference that we can make. We, who control these enormous and cold machines of death and destruction, we, who can kill thousands, can also save others. We can make a father to return home to his family alive. We can make children to come back to their mothers. We can make families to stay together. At least for someone. At least for one day.

And this is worth living for.

Moderately surprised you included Ishukone in your count, considering all the outrage and accusations you have expressed towards Ishukone in the past. I suppose I should take this as a compliment.

As for Pieter's decision, I applaud his efforts. I will admit that in the past, like Diana, I too harshly looked down upon those who were under employment by less than favorable capsuleer groups. However, over time, I've come to realize that flying under a corporate banner doesn't necessarily mean you follow their ideals as well. Best of luck in your efforts, and feel free to share any salvage with Ishukone as well!
