Citadel Reprocessing and Compression Suggestions

Hi all

Two things :

1. Citadels Reprocessing.

It doesn't seem to show who uses the reprocessing facilities of stations, only pays money into corp account saying x amount as reprocessing fee was received. Unlike other services that give you detailed feedback of who it was.

Could this maybe be changed/implemented at some point. It would allow citadel owners to maybe give better rates to frequent customers and is just great in general to keep tabs on things.

2. Citadel Compressing.

This service is currently free without entry in wallet journal. Would be great if one could charge a small fee for this too considering the module costs fuel to run and it sure simplifies hauling large loads at once.

Let me know your thoughts. Apologies if a similar topic existed already.

Compression should be taxed. 90% sure the only reason its not is CCP couldn't figure out how to tax the same service two ways if that is the case i would rather compression be a separate service and taxable

They could just use the same variable (rate) as reprocessing as it uses same module. It's defined in access scipts by owner for different parties.

If you look at the estimated prices of an ice block vs a compressed ice block for example you will see the value increases by 15-20%. So adding value for free and on top of it the convenience of hauling 10x as much.

I definitely think this should be taxed to allow station owners to benefit slighlty.

Citadels are invaluable for out of the way mining systems for the efficiency of nearby compression and the ease of transporting compressed ore, but I think CCP wanted this service to be a bonus, not a purpose. By making compression free it ensures that setting them up in every back end mining system to make a profit is not feasible, but instead corporations that set them up for this purpose will need to use and focus their activities with it to ensure that building it benefits them.

By having a compression tax it just ensures that every corporation is going to need a citadel or agreements with citadel owners in every system that they intend to mine in. It limits player flexibility of actions, movement and interaction.

As things are with free compression, a citadel can instantly bring activity into a system and while the structure may only get used for compression the activity will bring opportunity through player interaction that can be capitalized upon if a corp pursues it.
