New HIC Script: Cynosural inhibitor field generator

Pretty much works as a regular hic bubble, but instead inhibit cyno-beacons inside the bubble.

Cynos already lit will still work, but you can't ignite a new cyno field.
Just as a focus script, a hic with cyno inhibitor script cannot be remote repaired.

But stuff can still warp or not?

Yes, The idea is cyno only, someone else will have to do the pointing.

Why?

What niche does this fulfill beyond reducing the risk to your ratting carrier?

When you tackle that bait carrier, or super/titan is more when this would come into play. Also in fleet fights.

We have a mobile one for this as well. I'm assuming OP's idea was centered around this.

So, I tackle a hostile ship with one WDFG, light my cyno, then put this up with my other WDFg to stop the hostile's friends from rescuing him. No thanks. I would rather have the possibility for them to escalate.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I like it, cynos are extremely strong right now, and they could use some counterplay other than drop your own cyno. Putting inhibs onto HICs, which can't receive remote assistance, would be a nicely balanced counter.

I was thinking of fleetfights, go ratting in a carrier and you deserve to die.

There are already mobile inhibitors but they are way to bulky to bring with you. The idea isn't to stop ALL cynos everywhere but rather to use as a strategic tool to, for example force enemy dreads to jump in at wrong distance. It's a bubble after all, not the entire grid.

No matter what your goal is for the idea, you still have to think of all other use case players would have for it.

That sounds fine to me.

Another option:

I tackle cyno-bait

I activate inhib

I laugh as cyno bait dies, unable to drop.

Right now, cyno gameplay outside of large fleet fights at timers is one-dimensional. It's just drops and counter drops (aka N+1). This would add some spice and variety to how cynos are employed, without it being overpowered, since it would be limited to a ship that can't use a covert ops cloak and can't receive remote assistance when it is using the module.

but that is not how this will work.... i just don't use a cyno anytime i'm to close to another hic

not to mention this idea has already lit cynos still work so i just need to light it b4 you activate and if i don't i just gtfo

you also have it backwards in small fleets cyno play is far from n+1 in large fleets it tends to boil down to N+1 however just like everything else at large scale.

in small/med gangs it really is drop/counter drop you drop two carriers I drop a falcon
