Can I restart the final Naval Academy tutorial mission?

So I'm at the battle of the Hive mission, or at least was. Initially right before the mission started, I received a Incursus Gallente Frigate. Then I was told to slow down "the" "Capital Ship" with a web thing and destroy it. With it, I was able to fairly easy avoid death by the reinforcement enemy ships that came in. Once the Capital Ship was destroyed, I needed to turn my attention to the Hive itself. Right before I could deliver the final blow, I died. The Incurses ship was not replaced so I had to go back to my beginner corvette ship. When I come back to the mission area, I have to destroy the Capital Ship AGAIN, for some reason. Ever since then, it has been pretty much impossible for me to destroy the capital ship, because the reinforcement ships keep killing me. My repair thing doesn't repair my ship fast enough and it doesn't help that the missiles fired from the enemy ships GO THROUGH THE CAPITAL SHIP and hit me...

After I died a couple more times, I decided to quit for a little bit. A couple days later (now) I decide to try again. Again, I die because the crappy corvette ship I'm in cannot withstand the fire of the seemingly endless hoards of enemy reinforcement ships that come in. But this time when I travel back to the home station and the blue AI person tells me to make the replacement corvette ship "Active", I do it, but nothing happens. I'm not doing anything wrong because trust me, I know all too well how to get into my replacement ship at this point....

Sooooo, I've come to the conclusion I really can't do anything without resetting the mission from the point of me receiving the Incursus. I NEED the Incursus if I'm going to complete the mission. And the quest info is all gone now, I can't figure out where it went to.... I don't even know if I'm technically still even in the tutorial anymore. The windows for it are all missing and I didn't even do anything. Can anyone help me get back on track? I really do want to play this game but this whole incident is really not giving me a good first impression...

And no, you don't need to lose your frigate ship in the mission. My brother just beat the tutorial and he still has his frigate soo.... yeah. I just need a mission reset. If that's possible.

Why can't I put an image in my signature like in every other forum? :l

f12 > help > submit support ticket CCP is usually pretty good about dealing with such things. Right now I would imagine they are dealing with a bit, but give it a shot.

You need to kill off the seeker spawns. So you kill the spawns. Shoot capital ship. More seekers Spawn. Kill the spawns, Then attack the capital ship. Rinse and repeat unttil it goes down. Same thing with the hive, attack the hive, seekers spawn, kill the spawns, attack the hive, rinse repeat.

You should be able to reset the mission though by clicking on the ? in the operations info panel. Really, the corvette should be able to do it too. After all, you are only using 2 civilian guns instead of 1. You can fit two civilian guns on your corvette by repackaging and assembling your corvette multiple times. Then take the extra gun in your inventory remove the mining laser and bam, 2 guns. What the corvette needs though is a new armor rep which you should be able to buy one for about 10-20k isk. The super cheap one is fine for that mission. The main reason it seems so hard is because when your ship got blown up, you last your armor repper.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Have you considered to ask for help in local chat? Contrary to popular believe EVE Online is a multiplayer game.

Did you change the ship from your starter ship to the ship given to you just before this mission? The new ship is much more robust than your starter ship.

Additionally you should kill the spawning seekers, while orbiting the main target. You're flying a small ship, so stay mobile at all times!

Looking for assignment: have missiles, will travel ...

Have any of the other missions given you enough rewards to buy a new incursus from the market? If not, I'm not trying to rub it in, I'm just not sure what the starting ISK amount is these days.

As others have said many players would be happy to gift you an incursus to get through the tutorial. Talk to people, it's a social game.

On that note, mail me your loss in game (character sheet -> interactions -> combat log -> show losses -> drag it to a mail) and I'll make sure you get a new one.

I've tried this mission 5-6 times and the seekers keep killing me.
I'm now using 2 guns but need more of something to complete it.

Try adding some additional fittings:

In particular, moving away from Civilian gear to real gear will help a lot.

I had this problem, and my frigate exploded for no reason en route, so I had to use a corvette (clicking ? does not get you your frigate back). Here's the solution:

1) Once through the rift, look for a friendly battleship and head for it. You'll get blasted initially, but you should get out of enemy range soon enough.

2) Orbit the friendly battleship until the damage you took getting to it is repaired.

3) Head for the capital ship and do the web thing on it.

4) Watch carefully for three incoming seekers. As soon as they get close, break off from the capital ship and engage each in turn. They are not too hard to kill. Once all three are dead, return to blasting the capital ship.

5) Watch your overview for the next wave of three seekers. As soon as they appear and start getting close, repeat the previous step. And again. It doesn't matter if you leave off the capital ship, you have to waste the seekers as they approach, and you can do it with only basic equipment.

6) Tackle the Rift base the same way.. The final wave of seekers you can probably ignore as the base will go up in flames before they do serious damage to you.

7) If you are unlucky enough to get badly damaged despite this, repeat step 2.

I failed several times before coming up with this, and then breezed through it.

One advantage of the otherwise somewhat lame Civilian Armor Repairer and Afterburner they give you (at least initially) for the mission is that you can run them 100% and never run out of cap. And of course the Civilian guns never run out of ammo.

It's fairly hard to die with the armor rep going as I recall.

If you refit the starter ship basically the same way they had you set up for the first try against the hive then it should be easy to get it done. And if you have the resources to get something better then it can be even easier.

The current New Player Experience is fairly brittle and results in a poor impression if things don't go according to plan at any point, and there are several points (the final Hive battle being a major one) where it's difficult to talk people through recovery of their situation, especially when they're already frustrated. Even people who complete the Hive mission are typically disoriented by the loss of their ship and many miss the Inception Package waiting for them after that as they fixate on needing a replacement ship.

Even if you have to put in a support ticket, it should always be possible to recover and complete the tutorial though. But! worst case you're going to lose out on a Venture, frigate blueprint, two Miner I's, and a Mining Laser Upgrade I at that point if you decide to quit out of the tutorial. In that case you can F12, [Show Career Agents], pick one, [Set Destination] and go start in on their missions and you'll get caught up pretty quick (you get two more Ventures during the Career Agent mission chains).
