Moderators:

This will disappear off the front page very quickly unless regularly bumped.

Worth a sticky?

Excellent guide, it has been invaluable to me in my first few baby steps (baby AUs?) in EvE. Thank you for all your work on our behalf.

I think the OP is spending a lot of time helping out and answering questions in Rookie Help in-game, and with thousands of people in the channel, that's a huge deal.

Thank you for that, too.

Over four thousand in Rookie Help last time I looked, but I can vouch for her help personally, along with several others who know who they are. Smile In fact 99% of the pilots I have met have been very helpful, but I haven't been anywhere even vaguely dangerous yet...

Great job.

for the ship fitting advice, you might want to add the venture as ORE (venture) in the upgrade to new ship category.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

The venture is listed under every race, as the skills available to fit it with are slightly different for each alpha clone. So the fits are also slightly different.

How about that. So it is. Sorry to waste your time, I should have read deeper.

Corrected a few typos on some of the fit pages. If you see another, you can always click the "Edit this page" link at the top right of the guide page to submit a pull request with a correction. Smile

Added a note to the Your First Wormhole guide about the option to just scan from on the highsec hole instead of at a safespot.

A few people have asked about possibly translating the Guide, if you're interested in that, see here:

So far I am aware of people working on translating the Guide into Russian, Spanish, and Japanese - which is awesome! Hopefully those translations will be available soon.

If you want to see another language in that list, check out the link in the previous post. Smile

Some of the career agent notes have been updated to make them more concise and/or provide additional guidance.

MP4-encoded versions of the animations in the scanning guide have been added as fallbacks for browsers that don't support the smaller WebM compression format.

The guide will tell you what to do and how to do it, but from my point of view it is also interesting to decide WHERE to do it.

EVE is universe and finding my own place in it, place that I can call home, was defenetly one of the my most interesting tasks

I found in-game map almost unusable with all its tiny dots, mixed colours, chaotic texts, complicated structure and filters. So I suggest you get familiar with the Dotlan map tool.

Life is concentrated around trade hubs, you can find them easely with the market data station rank tool. It is up to you, how much people you want to see in your local, just do not forget - more people also means more gankers.

Enough with theory, lets do some practise. As a newbee I was wondering, how I can make ISK, visit interesting places and have some fun killing stuff. Example: I can go to Osmeden to do security missions for Federation Navy to get some initial ISK and I will have Orvolle trade hub just next door, null sec gate (do not go there !!! Lol ) in two jumps and tons of fun in nearby low sec (factional warfare zone). Wonna kill enemy battleship in your T1 frigate? No problem. Just join the right team. Right is active, newbee friendly and have active killboard next to your place.

Also regarding translations, analytics says that the most common non-English locale of users viewing the guide is German (de), but we don't have anyone working on a German translation so far. If you're interested in translating the guide to German (or know someone who is), have them reach out or read https://github.com/ayust/alpha-guide/wiki/Translating-the-Guide - thanks!

most lv4 missions can be done in a navy cruiser, or even normal cruiser on alpha clones, if you know how to fly that ship.

btw, the pages run very unsmoothly on my SAMSUNG A500, is it just me?
