extraction failed: the request for skill extraction failed verificatio

I'm trying to extract Astrometric Pinpointing V and getting this error. Unfortunately, the error message gives NO indication of what the problem is.

I've checked.
- in a pod
- no related skills in the queue
- there are no dependent skills
- I only have training augmentation & no jump clones
- I tried pausing the skill queue
- I tried closing and relaunching char


Any other ideas or suggestions?

Beats me, never used one. How many total SP do you have?

There is some trouble with skills. See this thread here.

What I have found is that because of this trouble, some skills of mine have excess skill points. For instance, on one character I had Navigation 5 (which has 256000 skillpoints max). However, in EveMon that skill says that it contains 330k skillpoints. Subsequently, when I try to extract those skills, I get that error.

I have found that extracting from a skill within normal boundaries works fine.

The skill you're trying to extract is most likely the current skill being trained. Clear your training queue (or make sure the skill you're trying to extract is removed from the queue).

This is likely my problem. The Character Sheet shows the skill I'm trying to extract has:

2,283,125/1,280,000 -> almost twice as many SP as is max for the skill.

Guess I'll have to wait for CCP to fix the issue before I try to extract SP again.

Yes, indeed. I have to say that they have been frustratingly silent for many days now about this issue, which is a very serious one. The devs in the thread I linked to talked a little, and then fell silent. The GMs send non-committal answers, telling us they can't do anything.

The skills is the embodiment of the investment in time that many of us have put into this game, and with this issue it is clear that there is something very, very wrong here. I wish that CCP could communicate with the players and ease any anxiety that mucking around with skill will not lead to any other issues.

Is it safe to be podded in T3s now?
Will it affect skill extraction (where the answer is obviously yes, given the context of this thread)
What happens when skills finish?
Is the database tables for skills corrupted?
