I'd have more faith in humanity if we started to accept and heavily fund nuclear power specifically molten salt / thorium reactors. We can't power the earth solely on solar and wind alone.

Molten salt and some pepper to taste. I am hungry.

Also, why dont we have underwear in Nex store? Do we walk in the same panties all the time? I would rather walk naked then.

I am not selfish enough to demand cheaper power for my own consumption while creating radioactive nuclear waste that stays toxic for ten thousand years that we don't know how or even attempt to store safely for that time period.

Imagine if wide swaths of the planet were currently uninhabitable for us because a previous civilization had left behind toxic waste byproducts from their ancient energy usage six thousand years ago. I think we'd be pretty well pissed off at them, I know I'd be. So I don't want that to be our legacy for future generations.

So bring on the wind, solar, wave, and thermal energy where we can, as much as we can!

Nuclear energy is currently our safest. Yes, safest and cleanest option, to be honest. Just look up how much waste is produced by solar panel building for example.

Bollocks. Renewable sources are growing in the energy mix for all countries who bother with them, and they represent more than 25% the energy mix of countries like Germany to the point of being the largest source of energy. Also there's anecdotal records, like the time when all of my country (Spain) was powered by renewable energy for 9 hours, mostly because of extreme wind conditions in the northwest.

Renewable energy is out there for grabs if a country bothers to stand up and reach it. Of course a country may also choose to sit on its redneck ass and stick to primitive energy sources and elect a reality denialist as president just to ensure they don't stand a chance to compete with the countries leading the race for the future of energy... and bet that a time will come when they regret it.
