you played for 30 minutes and expected to be able to play with no problem and know everything?

ive been playing 3 years and im still learning new stuff.

but look at what you did learn in those 30 minutes.... life will get easier as you progress

but youve already uninstalled so i guess it doesnt matter anyway

I've been playing EVE on and off for over 10 years and there's more stuff I have no idea about than that I do know.

I actually set up an Alpha clone just to see what the NPE was like. I found it a bit overwhelming to be honest. I was given so much information to digest that even though I knew why it was happening like it was I still felt a bit giddy. Quite what a new player would make of it all I have no idea. One thing did strike me about the NPE. It seems more like a single player game that an MMORPG and that might confuse new players when the training wheels come off and you are let loose into the real EVE. It's so long ago that I have forgotten whet it was like to be a newbie in EVE but I do feel that the new NPE could give new players a quicker start than was available when I started.

It's a pity that our old Aura had to be sacrificed though.Cry

Incorrect. There is absolutely nothing like EVE in the gaming industry anywhere, ever.

yes, yes you are a new player and should expect to spend some time learning the game.

EVE isn't easy.

are you really going to give up without really trying?

My god man while you were writing this did you not have any desire to just hit the enter key a few times?

With that said.

All of your complaints are meaningless, Listen we all had to deal with things similar to this when we started. Eve is not like other mmorpgs and if you're not willing to seek help in-game and just give up in a day then it's not the game for you.

As someone who also just started this game I want to say I do not agree with the OP.
I mean, being surprised that if you do not take things with you, you do not have them at hand? Come on, a bit of logical thinking can get you far. And there are plenty helpful people in this game!

Funny post is funny :)

Eve is an alternate universe. And just like this one we inhabit it only gives you a framework and some basic hard rules to work with. How you chose to apply yourself or not is up to you entirely.

One thing though that is perhaps worth something for new players is: enjoy your autopilot travels through high sec. Spend the time AFK or on studying the market/planning what to do next.

Ignore the guy above me, and never afk in space, or autopilot for that matter.

What? You go through high sec glued to the screen, in a frigate or other high sec ship? No way that is useful or necessary.

As a new player I will say some things were frustrating to learn, but it was all the more rewarding once i figured it out. (learning how to get around is pain in the backside)

Now Ive found a small but close-nit Corp, I have my own battleship and mining barge and im making okish ISK

Until you come back and find yourself sitting in your pod or worse back at the station in a new clone minus all your augmentations.

So much this. Eve is like that girl you just can't get out of your mind. She might not be perfect, she might throw one hell of a tantrum, but no one else will show you this good a time.

Clearly not the game for you.....

First off, no your item hangar is not some magic "bag" that you can access in any station. While this is a pain it also creates lots of content, especially in NS where stations and outposts can be taken over. That is, one alliance/coalition takes over a station or camps even an NPC station thus cutting off their enemy from their cache of ships. Yes this has actually happened several times. Sometimes a particularly vindictive alliance or coalition will take the station and transfer it to a small holding corporation and revoke all docking rights except for the holding corp which has a very limited number of people (this is called dead zoning).

Also, in HS if you want to move from your current system to a new system you have to move it yourself, and this too can create content. Many players have freighters and if they foolishly fill them up with too much stuff in terms of ISK value then that freighter maybe ganked. Also, people can hire in game freighter services such as Red Frog Freight. Don't or can't move your big pile-o-stuff go to the Red Frog website and find out how much to ship it.

So while it may be annoying...working as intended.

As for markets, the market in the game is largely player driven. That is just about everything on the market you buy was made by another player, probably brought there by yet another player. The inputs were acquired by probably a few dozen other players and so forth. So yeah, some markets will be thin.

Again, working as intended.

Pretty much most of the game is player driven. NS wars? Player driven. HS wardecs? Player driven. Ganking in HS? Player driven. The economy? Player driven.

If you are used to having things handed to you with a silver spoon and being coddled...no you will not like this game. Why you felt the need to post a giant screed upon realizing the game you tried simply was the wrong match for you is beyond me. This is a sandbox game, you make of it what you will.

...sure. I have to admit I have been away for quite a while. I am not even sure if clone jumps still exist. I never used my implanted version in high sec.

I've looked at many a game: Elite Dangerous?Boring as sin within a couple of hours. No Man's Sky? Some people should be arrested for the hype/lack of promised game play. Star Citizen? Potential, but nothing than some demos ,vaporware, and lots of promises made over numerous years. Add 5+ more space based games I've tried and nothing compares to EVE.

What well presented and offered games are you even talking about?

To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.

...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

They called us elitist when we told them we were glad EVE was an exclusive game that turned off most gamers because most gamers are morons.. "It will be great" they (the "more new players now" crowd) said.
