Planetary Interaction is a great way for people to produce some extra ISK while making materials that benefits the market in many ways (especially T2 production). I'm a lover of the idea of managing a colony that produces on-world materials and other things. I am NOT a lover of the set up process, mainly for some really poor controls and interface stuff. I'm not asking for a revamp of the system. Hell no. CCP has enough on their plate with the conversation of player structures. I'm just asking the devs to just consider some quality of life improvements for everybody that wouldn't be too hard to implement.

1 – Holding shift while clicking to place a item on the planet also keeps that same item selected under the cursor. It's truly maddening having to go back to the menu and select the item again from the menu. Having to place 18+ links between factories is quite a chore because of it.

2 - When setting up transferring of resources from a extractor to a factory, if a factory hasn't been set a item to produce then it should automatically be set to the item made with the raw materials. There is only 1 item that can be made per each of the raw material. It's just busywork having to set each factory before it can accept raw materials despite having pre-built instructions on what it can build with said materials.

3 – The text color of the menu should be something different based on the planet you are building on. Building on a white colored planet (ice or gas for example) makes the text unreadable. This includes items that can be selected.

Those three small changes would seriously make the set-up process that much smoother.

Links already have a shortcut.

I think it's "Hold CTRL while selecting a facility"
-This automatically connects one end of your link to a facility. Next you release CTRL and select the other facility you want the link connected to.

The mechanic you mention though could be nice for placing factories.
