Eventual evolution for W-space : Destructible Gates

Allow players to start constructing gates in W-space.

These gates will be destructible.

Gates can only be constructed on static holes.

Creating a gate causes the static hole to stop re-spawning and is only connected to the system when the gate was constructed.

To annoy people with load of isk let gates only be available through LP.

Optional : Gates can only be constructed between W-space systems.






PS : Please update awesome skyboxes to W-space, I haven't been back in since normal space looks so awesome.

I would like the idea if instead it only extended or shortened a wormhole's stability.

What I mean by this is, if your current static led to somewhere you would like to have access to, maybe this gate can extend its lifetime from say, 24 hours, to 96 hours. Thus giving you more time to use it.

Or however maybe it is somewhere you don't want, and you can use the gate to make it collapse faster. How much faster I don't know. But holding a wormhole open indefinitely just because the gate is destructible does not really make it balanced. Otherwise you would have so many wormholes open 1-3 jumps from Jita.

Even my idea, to be honest, I think is a bad one. Just trying to lend my support because I love wormholes.

Please explain to me what WHs and LP have in common?

Aside from that, I like the idea of WH Corps being able to lock down their own gates; and having those gates be destructable isn't a bad idea. I do believe the gate destruction should be catastrophic in nature however; with a 300km radius AOE explosion doing something like 12-16,000 DPS at some random point after dropping the gate into structure.

I also think those gates should be required to be anchored at both ends of the wormhole. This means that one has to be anchored on one side, and another anchored on the other side. Both gates have to be code-locked with identical codes; then onlined at approximately the same time, by parties on either side of the WH.

When it comes time for the WH to despawn, the gates simply prevent that from happening. They require fuel, just like a POS, and consume roughly 1 Block per hour each. If they run out of fuel at anytime, they shutdown and the WH despawns. If one runs out of fuel before the other, you have a catastrophic event on the side of the one which is still online, destroying that gate.

In Highsec or Lowsec, a catastrophic event can potentially damage your faction and security standings/status.

Neat idea anyway.

Balancing can be done in any way. They are just suggestions. stabilizer works, both sides , sure thats just fine tuning the system. It could turn wh into a 00 type space if ppl police these gates, then have goons come by and blow it all up.

LP just an attempt to give pve importance to wh stuff. Maybe just found in ded
Sites.
