The only troll in this thread is you

I don't know how you can say what you did if you were not trolling, the key part was comparing the work that WH's do to get kills as compared to null seccers and what WH people can do to block those attacks as compared to what null seccers can do, your reply was a troll.

If you want to go into further detail on what you meant by your troll then I will give it a whirl, but what you served me up there was tosh!!!

You have yourself admitted that you have no idea about life in wormhole-space, yet you feel like you can give accurate comparison about null and w-space?

Closing a wormhole is far from a safe thing to do. I've seen people sacrifice capitals just to close a certain wormhole-connection. It takes time and your ships are at risk. If you calculate the mass wrong, you end up with your ship stuck on the wrong side of a collapsed wormhole.
You aren't safe when you manage to close those connections though. It doesn't stop other people from opening their connection into your system.

No matter what you do in W-space, you cannot remove the risk of getting dropped on. You can reduce it, but you are never completely certain who is out there hunting you Yet you seem to think that we are perfectly safe in the system once the wormholes are collapsed. Keep your trolling in nullsec, where you may know something about the landscape. Leave wormholes for those who actually live there.

Wormholer for life.

My dear boy, I have not lived in WH space, but I have moved through WH's a lot, I have also closed a couple of null sec to null sec WH's myself, I have friends who spent a lot of time living in WH's and who gave me a lot of information on some of the fights they had, including evicting people and being evicted, or having the caps ambushed or ambushing caps, they detailed to me all their strategies and tactics and we talked through multiple battles, I helped them move out their Dreads when they left WH space during 2016.

I never said you were totally safe when you close holes, because people can roll new holes, you are projecting that I said that on me when I did not and trying to make out I am ignorant when I am not. I am pretty sure that should I decide to live in WH space I would have no issue at all, after all no one has yet managed to get a kill on me in WH space :-) And I have moved a huge amount of stuff through WH space. Thing is that many WH players seem to be a bit full of themselves and assume that people are ignorant of WH space when many of us use WH space for logistics to places like Stain.

You should drop the arrogance mate...

Oh good for you. You've used wormholes as a shortcut. Bravo. I don't know how you managed to do that since you seem to have a huge problem with just one neutral in local, yet w-space doesn't have a working local at all. You must have collected the courage to do it for a week....

There's a reason why many wormholers look down on nullseccers. Because while you keep bitching how it's too dangerous to do anything with one neutral in local, we just assume we aren't alone and act accordingly. You need to accept the fact that there are dangers around you and you might lose your ship. Nullsec needs a injection of HTFU, not made into a kindergarden.

You are seriously up yourself, I have operated in systems with multiple reds in system trying to kill me and started doing that 6 months after I started playing, when a AFK cloaky camper goes any where near me I just want to kill the blighter and have killed quite few in my time, again stop projecting your prejudices on me. It is lame and pathetic.

Many WH players are so up themselves it is funny and you are certainly one of them, booo hoo, lose ships, I have lost lots of ships, don't give a monkey's mate.

I am one of those people who jumps into another toon and rats in a destroyer to wind cloaky campers up, you need to stop believing your own propaganda mate, you sound like CNN!!!

"I've flown an interceptor through nullsec but never lived in it, so I know everything about living in nullsec" That's basically the argument you are using about WHs right now.

You do bring up a good point, though. You aren't ever totally safe when you close your holes. You are always totally safe in sov null when watching local. Literally no one watching local in sov null will ever die while PvE-ing. That's a problem.

Wormholes are the most difficult part of the game to live in (remember when CCP was shocked that people actually figured out how to live in them?), and we use organization and game mechanics to stay safe. Then we see someone like you who refuses to be organized, refuses to use game mechanics and still calls for nerfs. Yes, I do look down on that. Along the same lines,

im really sick and tired of seeing this boring issue being debated over and over again with no response from ccp.

they removed off-grid boosting
moon mining will become active play
almost every other feature outside of PI is no longer passive.
which exception to this issue AFK cloaking coward camping

i call it that because thats what it really is.. a cheap way to snag kills and use a game mechanic that has no counter at all.

this issue could have been easily fixed by

placing fuel requirements on cloaks
creating a new ship to fill that role of hunting down cloaked afk players
even add a structure that could end cloaky camping in system

yet no response at all from ccp on this broken griefing tool

just delete this entire thread its been a huge waste of time and ccp seems to just not really care to hurt their friends.

It did seem that the other person who I was referring to was doing the same old if you do anything to remove afk cloaky camping then you must remove local trolling bit or make it less instant, that person started again with the lame I am not at my keyboard so no risk troll not long afterwards. What the guy I was replying to had suggested could be designed into something that made it a bit more dangerous to afk camp but required effort to apply. So for example a 1 AU range would require significant effort in big systems and therefore could not justify a delayed local. The ability to shoot the local OA and thus removing local was always on the cards, I hope that CCP make that OA vulnerable when it is active Evil. Thus countering the local being an issue, no delay needed.

For me the simple if you remove AFK cloaky camping as a strategy should be balanced by removing local is a troll, suggesting adjustments to local by forcing a delay is less of a troll, if I was designing a system for this I would require the player to put local impeding module on their ship to create that delay, the full set would be a high a medium and a low module which would give you the maximum delay in being reported so it becomes a real bind in terms of fitting, everything must have a cost don't you agree?

It is not our fault that you don't understand how the game works.

Edit: Oh, and that cloak inhibitor would do nothing, I mean literally nothing, to AFK cloaking. Apparently you just can see that though so let me spell it out for you.

If, for example, I am AFK cloak camping a system I will never ever go within range of this cloak inhibitor now will I. Jesus, I can't believe I had to point this most elementary fact out to you.

And once again you lie through your keyboard. Nobody has suggested simply removing local. Nobody. There is pretty much widespread agreement that removing local should also be accompanied with a structure that lets people regain many of the benefits of local.

As for a delay to local with this cloak inhibitor the idea is that if you get a benefit it should come with some sort of cost. Nothing in New Eden is free (except for local, which IMO is a design flaw which some Devs have come close to admitting). With the cloak inhibitor one would gain a distinct advantage in terms of safety while ratting...one should not just get such an advantage unless one thinks that NS ratting is currently unbalanced against ratters, but given that ratting income is enormous, that seems hardly the case.

Perhaps you should first grow up, then go back up stream a bit and read up on the OA.

Very few here defend AFK cloak camping per se. They defend it as a counter to local, and may would be fine with changing the cloaking mechanic if local were to change as well.

Your solutions all suck BTW because they ignore the reason why AFK cloaking is used and works in the first place: local.

And how about you just biomass your character and go play My LIttle Pony instead.

There is an answer from CCP. Nothing is wrong.

There is a counter. PvE in fleets while on comms in PvP fits. How many times have you been hot dropped when ratting in the same site with 10 corp mates in PvP fit ships and a few logi? How many times have you even ratted like that at all? There's your answer.

Don't ask for nerfs because nullsec PvE-ers are unwilling to use existing mechanics.

Noone gives a s**t about what you should or shouldn't bring. Its about the fact that people think its not balanced. Falcon, Nano domi/phoon, Ishtar all got nerfed because they were used in unexpected ways that made alot of people unhappy. If CCP were bunch of idiots they would ignore that fact but they didn't, they nerfed them. Thats what people in this threads trying to indicate, change, because they are not happy.

Its also proven that any change causes rage in the eve community. Even if its directly superior or not. You just happen to be amongst the raging conservative bunch. Good luck trying to prove that people shouldn't be happy and take the big fat d**k up there a**es by the cloaky in there system and still be contempt. Unhappy people are allowed to have there opinions and its stupid arguing against it.

Cloaking still needs a limitation no matter the mechanics its connected too.

Edit: Note the actual word cloaking literally, yes its during the actual cloaking faze I'm referring too. The second you drop your cloak its a different ballgame as everyone in this treads pointed out. And if your stupid enough to argue that you show up in local then why don't people show up in local when they cloak in wormhole space?

Except that even while all of your examples were nerfed relatively shortly after those dominant tactics were used AFK cloaking remains....despite over what...a decade to change the mechanics of cloaking.

And we have Devs from CCP pointing out things like, "Cloaked ships do remarkably little DPS."

Sorry, what you feel is irrelevant. What CCP thinks on the other hand....

You really are a cretin aren't you, of course I realised that, no one should have a free I win button, people will still need to hunt the cloaky campers and use their brains, what I would do is force people to put the damn things down, scan then move it to another location and scan again, they are looking for AFK cloakies not active ones. So people have to work to get that AFK cloaky camper, not some immediate I press a button there he is probe him down bullshite.

Second thing is that CCP will be implementing and OA for local for sov space, that has already been confirmed. As I keep pointing out my issue is just with the AFK part and this is the last part of bad AFK play to be dealt with and CCP needs to move their ass on this.

My dear troll, I am one of those people who operates even with people in local, to do that means understanding the risk that the other person poses and you either go high, make it so they have no chance or low make it so they get nothing more than a T1 destroyer, the fun part is the cat and mouse game with these plonkers, reverse windups, I have had cloaky AFK campers leave the system I am in because I continued to operate. So you sprouting off nonsense means nothing to me.

Actually if you go back earlier you will notice that I mentioned that I had friends who were in a WH and being the strategic and tactical thinker that I am I picked their brains about living in a WH and the battles they had, including evicting someone, being evicted, losing caps and killing caps. You know communication, listening, asking questions. Moving through WH chains to get stuff into Stain is practical experience and closing WH's in null sec because they lead to a dangerous alliances space was also something I have done. I have not lived in WH space myself, but I am damn sure I would not find it difficult and as I pointed out in all my time moving stuff though WH space, I have not lost a ship, well a little slip, one of my alts got bombed once in a Stealth Bomber, made me laugh that one and was so meaningless I had forgotten it.

You can do quotes, not impressed...

i dont care what these counters are about

AFK cloaking is an exploit and folks doing it should be banned from the game. i see we have some cloaky campers on this thread who surely get butt-hurt over the thought of losing their exploit.

its time to get rid of this issue and nerf it once and forall.. i dont care what kind of made up crap you can say.. i dont care about your whines about removing it.. it needs to be gone..

just as off-grid boosting was nerf'd.. so should cloaky camping simple as that.

I win button...? What does an AFK cloaker win?

Don't bother answering we went through this already with Mike Voidstar, the answer is nothing. In fact, AFK cloaking comes with a cost. If I have an alt AFK cloaking I cannot use him for PI, invention, missions, mining or anything else. All I can do is hope that maybe...I'll get a kill which again gives me pretty much nothing except some satisfaction at improving my killboard.

This notion that a cloak is an "I Win Button" is the refuge the intellectually dishonest and incompetent--i.e. it can be pretty much encapsulated in one term: Dracvald.

Oh, and the OA will work in just about all space dingbat. Even wormholes.

i dont care what these counters are about

AFK cloaking is an exploit and folks doing it should be banned from the game. i see we have some cloaky campers on this thread who surely get butt-hurt over the thought of losing their exploit.

its time to get rid of this issue and nerf it once and forall.. i dont care what kind of made up crap you can say.. i dont care about your whines about removing it.. it needs to be gone..

just as off-grid boosting was nerf'd.. so should cloaky camping simple as that.

Why don't you just quit if you are that bad?

AFK cloaking is NOT an exploit. If it were CCP would have said so years ago. They haven't so it isn't. This is something we see from completely horrible players who are simply total failures.

Seriously, just leave nobody will miss a bad player like you. Biomass and uninstall.

Well, I read this and all I can think is...where is the problem then? Doesn't seem like a problem to me.

Dracvald the only human who is completely immune to cognitive dissonance.

Edit: And you are a bald face liar too...an AFK camper cannot leave system. To do that he'd have to be ATK. Roll
