New to EVE and looking for a bit more direction than just the tutorial? Here's a helpful guide.

Well, i've read a lot of guides for EVE and this one is right up there near the top.

It is well written in an unassuming, non patronising way, easy to understand and the nice page design and font makes it a pleasure to browse.

This community is awesome (and growing daily)! When will we hit 55K on TQ?

Very good guide.

It should be mentioned that CCP did not pre-configure the various options for the game's user interface to be convenient. As players, the first thing we have to do is re-configure the market, the size, shape, and contents of the overview, the buttons on the toolbar, the sometimes-confusing keyboard shortcuts, and so on and so forth.

In other games, you start the game and the user interface is there, providing all the information in a convenient way. Spells add themselves to the quickbar, radar / map auto-zooms, everything is configured already. That's not the case with EVE.

Very nice indeed, alpha players will need guides like this to overcome the inital overwhelming amount of information.

A very good introduction to the essentials of EVE, easy to read and navigate.

A quick read-through shows up a couple of small inaccuracies:

In Mission 3 from the industry career agent, the 1mn Civilian Afterburner blueprint (copy) is provided by the agent when the mission is accepted and is not available from the market (afaik).

When you leave a player corporation you go to your racial bloodline's default NPC corp, not your original starter NPC corp.

Apart from such small details this looks like a very useful comprehensive guide for newcomers - well done.

Yep, this was already fixed.
