Hello. I just dont know what just happened. I was doing second mission of that advanced military thing. I traveled to the location and then BOOOM. My ship was insta-destroyed. Is this some kind of troll or do i have to learn something? Thanks for your answers.

The lesson is that there is a real death penalty in EVE. You are meant to lose a ship in that mission, the mission description should have given you a hint.

Mission description was "take this ship loaded with explosives and drive it near the structure. Don't worry, you will be safe in your pod" or something to that effect.

But yea, In Eve please read the mission descriptions carefully. Don't just click through them like a quest description in most MMOs. Kill everything is not the answer to every mission. Some specifically tell you to not shoot anything.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Lesson learned! also,..read the mission descriptions.

nothing worse than thinking you finished the mission and then realizing you were supposed to blow a building up or loot a container. Or,..you forgot to take that item they gave you to deliver out of your hanger and put onto your ship :)

as far as I know,..that is the only mission that purposefully Blows your ship up like that.

have fun!

Bear in mind that the mission you just ran is attempting to teach you 3 things:

1. Your ship is tool and quite disposable. Don't get attached to it.
2. Ship death is permanent. It won't respawn. You have to go get another one and all the mods you slapped on it.
3. There are some cases where, to achieve a larger goal, you must sacrifice your ship (example: "suicide ganking" and "Leeroy fleets").

Crap... I didn't explode on this mission... and I never learned all the 3 valuable messages. I guess that's what you get when you jump ahead of the tutorial and do it in an armor tanked Incursus...

Well that just seems unfair to me. Plus when my ship exploded like that I had a quest item, which I can no longer retreive now, leaving me unable to continue the military quests storyline... plus my ship for 1 million isk with a bunch of modules is now gone just like that... Is there a way to reset that mission, because losing the quest item and all that really pissed me off.

Unless you have already done it there's another mission that requires you to loose a ship and if you read the description you can make some extra ISK by insuring it (platinum ofcourse) for a quick payout.

Did you bookmark where you lost your ship?
If so, you can warp back there in another ship and recover whatever dropped (about half of what you had).

As people already said, the mission makes it clear that you are going to blow up. Do be careful to read!

I went there and couldn't retreive it. The only thing I could loot was 1 scrap metal, an afterburner and a mining laser. i don't care that much about those stuff, I just want to know if I can still complete that military mission, in order to advance to the others.

Should be able to; the main mission objective is "blow up."

Now you WILL have a later mission where you also lose a ship when a bunch of ships warp in on you. The mission briefing will warn you about it. I warped out and had to warp back and let them blow up my ship. Since I got a ship with that mission and used cheap lasers, that was fine.

If you lost a mission item for any starter mission you should be able to abandon it and pick it back up again if it all went **** up. Never worry about something being 'Unfair' in eve or you won't get far in this game. If you play long enough I gaurentee you will lose ships in many many many 'unfair' ways and if you decide to actively engage in PvP will often kill ships in 'unfair' ways too

But it says that if I abandon the mission I won't be able to get another one, because it's a story quest and the NPC won't offer me any more.

Just sod it off.. Ignore the rest of the combat tutorials and just go look for rats to kill and run some missions, will teach you the same stuff anyway.

My apologies I went and tested this exact scenario and you are right. However this morning (1 downtime later I assume) I am able to re acquire it as if I hadn't done it to begin with. Try going back to the system it says to acquire the item from and warping back ot the mission plex

Still no change. Thanks though. What am I missing besides ISK if I don't find a way to fix this?

If you are looking for fair then Eve is not the game for you.

As far as your starter quest you should be able to get the mission reset from a GM. I also believe that you can run those starter missions 4 times ( once with each faction ) if you want.

Also there is no need for you to do any of the starter missions. People recommend that you run them to get a feel for the game and because they give out halfway decent rewards for a new player. However there is nothing that you get in any of those missions that is at all special. As a matter of fact most stuff in this game is made by players and easily obtainable. There are some items that are very expensive but anything that you can loot can be sold or purchased. This is not like other MMOs where you get special items from quests that are bound to you. Nothing in this game is bound.

There are cosmos missions that can only be run once per character and give rewards that can not be gotten any other way. But there are people that run those missions repeatedly and then sell the items so they are available for sale also.

TL;dr
Don't get too hung up on your "stuff" in this game. It's all consumable and all replaceable.
