WHY, CCP, WHY ?!?!?!?!?!?

Because they needed a lot of new dialogue and could not do it in the original voice, perhaps?

+1 to that.

To all the Omega clones moaning and bitching about the new Aura. Where were you when CCP gave us the chance to test out Ascension on Sisi? It's a little late now to say you don't like it. If you had just bothered to log in to the tests when they were being run you might have given those of us who did tell CCP that the new Aura wasn't working a louder voice.

Things might change but next time they run a testing campaign, take part in it.

Does it really feel better to be one of thousand of ignored instead of one of hundred? Lol

No need to make the new voice as if she was on caffeine, badly enunciated and totally opposed to the lore written for Aura.

"The only lasting remnant of the accident was a tendency for her voice to sound metallic, but Excena later admitted that she loved the effect and had intentionally kept her voice like that."

"Her metallic, worn voice was perfect for the task of voiceovers for the AI on capsuleer ships. The immortal Aura was born."

You honestly think that would have mattered? Really? Seriously? SiSi sees what? maybe 0.5% of the player base?

I heard the new Aura voice on a well known Youtube channel and for the first time ever logged into SISI to make sure I wasnt hearing things. Those of us who thought the new voice was terrible said so on the SISI feedback thread and were completely ignored. But to my knowledge there was no specific request from CCP asking for feedback regarding the new voice.

In game I see lots of people complaining in local and corp chats but very few of them seem to care enough to come here and complain. Even when I suggest they do. Most people seem happy just to mute her.

I assume CCP have made the decision to take the atmosphere of the game in another direction so the slower Aura has been replaced with the more fast pace one. This does not appear to be something they want to discuss coz the only reply we've had so far is "nope"

I get why they had to change her = NPE

I get why they want to change the atmosphere = to make the game seem more dynamic.

But what I dont get is the poor production value of the phrases we hear the most.

Come on CCP throw is a bone here, we just wonna hear a voice that doesnt drive us insane after hearing it for an hour.

How that FC in an earlier post managed 12 hours I'll never know..

When character sheet portrait is minimised, the character name is no longer click-able to open the information window.

Please fix.

*Edit. Also add the Race, Corporation and Alliance logos in minimised view.

I will be refusing to view the new character sheet portrait.

Oh just get off your high horse will you? It only makes perfect sense that now that Ascension has officially been deployed many more players will be exposed to these changes and therefore many more will feel the need to complain and/or give their feedback. Which is exactly what this thread was created for.

Not only you, but also CCP should be more than intelligent enough to understand and expect this. So saying that now it's too late to complain or give feedback because that should've been done during the testing period makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Sure, if we had all voiced our complaints earlier, then CCP would've had the opportunity to do something about this issue sooner. But that isn't - in any way - a good enough reason for them to now hold their hands over their ears and ignore us.
They know damn well that now that this update has been experienced by a much larger player base they will receive a much greater amount of feedback, and these people deserve to be heard just as much as those who happened to have experienced it during the testing period.

Of course, I get your frustration. Believe me, I'm frustrated too. But instead of condemning everyone for not doing it sooner, I think that we should be glad that so many players are speaking their mind and are actually taking the time to write a complaint and give feedback on what's bothering them and how they think that things could be improved.

Because that is the only way that we as consumers seem to be able to actually get things done in this day and age. By speaking up, and taking action. And it's never too late for that.

One complaint with the new skills window ect.
Even when the bars are minimised to just icons, I can't resize the obnoxiously large window to something more space friendly.

Allowing for scroll bars to be called if need be and letting the window be shrunk down would be lovely.

Please let me select the voice of Aura that has grown very dear to me since i've started playing this game.

I like almost all changes and the ones i don't like as much i can grow accustomed to i'm sure. But i was in sheer horror when i undocked and wanted to warp to a target.
This has nothing to do with the new voice being bad (although some samples could definitly use a do-over) but much more with immersion and the "old Aura" being a very core component to this wonderful game for me. It's part of eves personality and the way i experienced eve from the beginning. I might as well stop calling it eve because currently it is a different game for me just because of what you or others might consider a "detail".

I was a happy little camper when i found a "Voice Font" Option in the Menu only to realize that it had nothing to do with Aura but much more with Chat voices. As of now i'm pretty much devastated.

I don't mind if the old voice actor is not available anymore and therefore you need to do introductions, new sounds/speeches or the sorts with a new voice. I wouldn't mind stories of Empires being told in different voices at all - if you want to use 4 different ones for each faction one.

Just please let me/us have an option to at least hear the navigational commands and other snippets that do exist in the old variant again.

If Aura gets to keep that voice she needs to be deployed in a ship floating around so we can pod her repeatedly until she is reborn, just so we can pod her again.

What possessed CCP to hire Gilbert Godfrey's sister we will never know?

I am now avoiding doing anything that will cause her to speak.

So much for the engaging sounds of Eve.....!!!!

Please bring back Aura.......

Carol Channing would have been a better voice choice.......

Actually no.
I've said it before, subtly, I' ll make it blatant this time:

The NPE is not available for existing customers.
The Aura voice change happened only for existing customers.
New customers only have this new voice.

For consistency reasons, we need the Aura voice back.

Solution A:
Make Aura voice changeable. (Costs almost nothing.)

Solution B:
Restore Aura for everyone, and dub 4 different voices for the NPE, each for every faction.[credit:Jo Phor]
Optional, make Aura voice changeable and include original Aura + the 4 new to choose from. You can even include Failaura for the kids:). (Costs a bit, but would be a professional solution.)

Solution C:
Ignore the customers. Lose the customers. Lose the game. (Cost analysis redundant)

Plot twist: What if CCP is actually drowning and all this NPE and Alphas was one last try to get back to surface? If true, then they probably couldn't afford to pay 4 actors, or even the old actress for that matter.

Speaking of which, why was Caroline Dalton out of the question for the dub?

If they did it because they are drowning it is not for lack of accounts. I have 8 paying, and I don't believe I am the only one!

Leave Aura for all of the things she had been saying....

Get a new voice for the tutorial... problem solved.

The immortal Aura is apparently only immortal up to a point.

I don't know why the voice of the ship's computer AI has anything to do with the new player experience voice. The two could be separate. They should be separate. When I started playing, Aura's mysterious, ominous voice was a big part of the ambiance.

The industry interface is somewhat of Berkeley Quality - it may work or may not, sometimes the Facilities tab is not even selectable, searching for Facilities is almost impossible.
No network traffic no client activity just the spinning circle.

Would be nice to have a possibility to define filter first and search afterwards not just search for what we are not inerested in.

Sometimes the Jobs tab also fails to load, no fix untill now.
