I realise that the voices of the critics all too often go untempered by those of the satisfied, making the squeaky wheel seem like a bigger problem than it is. After spending a few days with the new features now, and enjoying them greatly, and having no problems so far, I'd like to say, well done CCP. Now fingers crossed that this new free-to-play system you've introduced goes well in the long run. So far so good, but it's really too soon to tell, isn't it.

Whatever you do, you should not quote customer service replies on the forums. That is usually not well received.

Not sure, could it be that you need to have 2FA on? Think i read a place, that you can't skill extract without the 2FA, that way if you account is highjacked they can't get your skills?

Sure man. But for me it is not well received when I'm ignored. I didnt show all the emails from customer support. They know that happened and didnt change the wrong email address. I only have shown what and how happened, not the all correspondence. In addition if someone would read my email carefully he'd solve all gmail requiests in one easy update

They did give us a choice, it was called a testing server. I assume that you know how to log on to Sisi, so why didn't you? Those of us who did told CCP that the new voice was not up to the old one. Please, next time CCP has a big upgrade make sure that you use Sisi to wring out the bugs. We need a loud voice telling the devs. "This bit is wrong, please fix it out."

Although I never saw and cant say I saw any effort or promotion of CCP requests for feedback on that issue at all (or any other really) but I'm fairly new so I'll put that down to me even if it *might* not be any mistake of mine.

But still: Kinda important to be able to retain their old loyal *paying* player base I would have thought but.. hey, what do I know about loosing paying customers, right?

Trying to boil it down to the essence of it all (for me) on Aura:



I'm (trying to be) in a dystopian future, not in a professional online commercial retail sales "environment" - so my greatest desire when playing EVE isn't exactly to feel like I'm in a WalMart/ commercial elevator / commercial interactive website catering to 14 year old boys who have an innate desperate need to feel some or any kind of artificial positive acceptance/ positive feedback from females..
(through no "fault" of their own of course - I might have enjoyed and appreciated it on a less than subtle level at 14 as well - due to genetics more than choice ), but even so - still - that kind of a "sales pitch" / PR 'technique' has as much place in EVE as the voice of Fran The Nanny would have in Blade Runner...

Now that new characters start with decent skills, there is no need for the "Civilian Data Analyzer" or "Civilian Salvager" to exist. These just confuse new players, because it's not at all clear that they're useless outside the tutorial career missions.

Could I suggest you remove these and give out Data Analyzer I and Salvager I (etc. etc.) in the career missions?

(This comes up repeatedly in the E-UNI channel.)

alpha clones - whatever, seen some people return, working as intended
character sheet - gave me cancer, but its healing
boost system - actually, kinda like it, as an fc, makes flying a COMMAND ship have purpose
mining changes - who knows, never did any of that rock slinging
ship explosions - turned off withing 10 seconds to cure the old bug that still persists, way to waste your time CCP

BUT

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO AURA.

i thought i would get used to it, but after running a fleet for around 12 hours yesterday, if i heard that "machine" say you have run out of ammo again i was gonna go nuts.

used to be worth running out of capacitor just to hear her voice, now its like nails graiting on a chalk board

WHY, CCP, WHY ?!?!?!?!?!?

please change it back, if you listen to the players on not one single other thing, listen too us on this, new aura bad, mmkay

This thread reminds me of the feedback thread for the proposed change to Rapid Light Missile launchers a couple years back. No matter that no one had complained about them. No matter that no one wanted the proposed change. No matter that a weapon system that takes 40 seconds to reload would never get past the drawing board. After 30 or 40 pages of negative comments a dev came on and said we are going ahead with the change, most of the negative comments are by the same 20 people. Since then we are stuck with the hated reload time on RLM launchers.

You can't deny their logic.... keep this thread open for months, while everyone is continuing to play Eve until people just tire of leaving feedback anymore, and brand new players (with no perception of the old Aura or Character Sheet) begin to post their benign feedback. CCP will then cherry pick positive responses to those issues, and then cite then in their eventual response.

It will go something like this:

"We are pleased that most of you are enjoying Ascension. We realize it is impossible to please everybody* when we make changes to Eve Online, but we are going forward in continuing to make Eve the best it can be for new and old^ players alike."

This new "Warp Drive Active" kills me. It is sooo bad. Everytime the new voice saying "Warp Drive Active", thoughts about my shopping list are taking over my brain. I can't help it. Pleeeaaase CCP. I already bought 2 x bar of soap, a cleaning rag, 3 avocado and even a Portable Clothing Dryer Rack (for my socks) today. I'm meeelting. ;-)

+1 to that.

To all the Omega clones moaning and bitching about the new Aura. Where were you when CCP gave us the chance to test out Ascension on Sisi? It's a little late now to say you don't like it. If you had just bothered to log in to the tests when they were being run you might have given those of us who did tell CCP that the new Aura wasn't working a louder voice.

Things might change but next time they run a testing campaign, take part in it.
