Cancelling target lock and Weapon Reload mid-cycle

As far as I know these mechanics don't exist.

Sometimes you target the wrong object, and sometimes this target takes forever to lock. You should be able to cancel the lock attempt mid-process instead of listening and watching and waiting on the progress for two minutes before finally unlocking it.

Yes, for weapon reloading and changing ammo, you have the work around of turning auto-reload off, or stopping the cycle before ammo is expended and changing it, but sometimes you miss your chance, and in the case of rapid light or heavy missiles, this missed opportunity means waiting 35 seconds to then either change it and wait another 35 seconds, or try to catch it again at the end of it's expended cycle of ammo. So cancelling a reload cycle mid way through and then selecting the ammo you want would be an improvement, or even being able to select the next default ammo to load through the auto reload.

Disagree. These things are part of game balance and the choices we make while using the ships. Make good choices and things work out, make bad choices and things may not. Ships that use rapid light missiles are a glaring example of how these proposed changes would have a severe impact on the balance, or capital ships locking targets

Yes to targeting, no to ammo loading. Reason being: logic. It makes sense that you could tell a piece of electronic equipment to stop doing what it's doing and get instant results, but when it comes to something physical, like loading ammunition into a magazine, well that's a process that isn't supposed to be interrupted and it takes time. I know that basically means: I want EVE to be "realistic", and maybe that's laughable because it's a internet spaceship game, but that's how I'd prefer it.

If we are talking realism, then being able to set the next auto reload to a different ammunition type would be realistic. More realistic then having to stop the firing mechanism early by leaving one or two charges and manually making a premature change on the spot.

Another option would be to have the auto reload automatically disable if the module is deactivated after firing the last shot, instead of actually fiddling with the setting.

I wouldn't mind being able to set the next auto-reload. Maybe right-click, load next.

I'm not sure what you're saying when it comes to stopping early. You can always turn your guns off and reload early. Maybe I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, if you try to turn your guns off after expending your last shot, it automatically reloads, even if you don't want it to. So usually when I want to change ammo I have to stop the guns before they hit 0 ammo left.
