Nah, what will probably happen is that the "Ye Olde 5% Kinetic Damage Bonus" code is shared between the Drake, Tengu, Nighthawk, etc., so when CCP changes the Drake's kinetic bonus it to a RoF bonus, *all* of the kinetic damage bonus ships will get the RoF bonus...

And since (AFAIK) there are no double RoF bonii for a ship, then it means that the RoF bonus code was only designed to handle a single RoF bonus, so the Tengu will suddenly get a 5% RoF bonus on top of its 7.5% RoF bonus for a total of a 62.5% RoF bonus...

Tengu:
current: 6 launches / (1 - (.075*5)) = 9.6 effective launchers
post "drake" change: 6 launchers / (1 -(.05*5+.075*5)) = 16 effective launchers

So, the only Caldari ship worth training would be the Tengu.


Or could I be underestimating CCP's coding and testing capabilities.


The Tengu got actually 12 affective launchers if you take the kinetic bonus into account. 1100 DPS with selectable damage types @ 100km or going balls deep into a gank contest with a blaster mega in a HAM fitting in a cruiser with a extreme good tank, what could go wrong? What?


wouldn't even need to go toe to toe with any blaster boat since that range bonus with HAMs spits them out up to 30.4km...

I like the Nighthawk, but I agree it needs grid.

Of course, a lot of ships are overshadowed by the tengu. This is working as intended. Blink

The way I read the CSM minutes, they are looking at swapping the magnitude of the warfare link bonuses between the T3's and CS's so that the CS's have the 5% bonus and T3's have the 3% bonus.

This is as it should be.

The other option is to allow the CS's to give bonuses to two kinds of command links. Eg, Eos would get Info and Armour. Claymore would get Skirmish and Siege. Etc. Not sure this would be a good idea.

Aside from the soon nerfed drake, name a caldari ship you see with mass numbers you see on fleets?

Amarr - Abaddons, harbies

Gallente, Domis and Megathrons

Minnie- Maels, canes,rifters

You dont see Raven or Rohk fleets, certainly not ferox. You get a stray black bird or falcon, not a fleet. I dont see tengu fleets running around.

The fact of the matter is, hes very very right and your wrong.

They are not going to improve the CS they are going to nerf the Drake to make it seem like they are improving other ships. Such logic defies the imagination.

rohk fleets are becoming more popular... and nagas are a big part of the tier3 BC fleets.
