Have CCP ever thought of creating an official ladder and ranked system

Like an official page from CCP where people fight for the highest rank?

Each kill would be rewarded with certain amount of points
Depending on how many people were involved, what system and what ships the points rewards would vary.
You lose points if you are killed
Characters from accounts under the same email wouldn't get points killing each other

what do you guys think?


Almost like the old battleclinic, but this time official and directly off the API (people wouldn't post anything)

They seem to be trending away from having any official anything, like Evelopedia getting axed as an example.

Would be a cool idea though I agree.

There could also be a ladder rank for alliances and a ladder rank for corps.
And every year there could be some rewards for the top ones, and the ladder resettled again for a new year/season.

This is how you encourage more ganks, because unless your constantly popping supers the gank groups would win on anything global. corp/alliance could be a good idea but there are those that also would see it as reason for pure ganking to get those rewards.

I think we need ranking of who scammed the biggest amount of ISK, or who stole the biggest amount of stuff, or who ganked the biggest amount od miners.

Or who made the biggest amount of shiptoasts.

Let the rankings express how much we care about EVE reputation.

This would just encourage epeenery to a huge extent more than the killboards do already. Then you would have the gaming of the system. And the only way you could not have gankers on the top of the pile like zkill is now is that if any of the ships that are on a gank killmail will get a reduction because they are killed by concord or the facpo. Its the only way to balance that isk/points system realistically which will make gankers cry big crocodile tears which is why itll never happen. The other aspect is the division of people on a killmail for actual "worth" of contribution. 200 guys instablapping some BS in a fleet fight in null versus 20 taking down a capital versus 2 guys catching some ratter. There atm is only the isk value and the points for the most part, points are mitigated but isk value is not currently. So a better system needs to be put in place for these sort of issues.


And even then....


Youll get the arguments, who was better in their prime? Ali or Tyson? And itll turn into a fight anyway.Blink
