so the ship itself: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Primae

right now it got 4 low slots, meant to be armor tank according to in game stats and iirc you don't need any skills to fly it?

bay sizes:

planetary commodities: 1000 m3
Command Center capacity: 2000 m3

so far pretty much any t1 hauler can get more storage space then primae and for much lesser price. The only advantage I see here it's lower skill (if any) requirement.

Then we have the gallente line with the Epithal:
Gallente industrial bonus: 10 % planetary commodity storage + 5% max velocity.

base commodity bay size: 45,000 m3

This ship makes the primae kinda utterly useless.

so what I'm proposing,
make the primae useful.

first tie it up with the "ORE Industrial" skill like the noctis.

then as role bonus (not skill tied but role) bonus to cloaking {Or at least the slot to place a cloaking device} (anyone doing PI is using cloak anyway).

Next is bays:
Planetary command > to store command center > 3000 m3 (for 6 planets , max number you can have on single toon).
Commodities bay > base: 50,000 m3 and 10% bonus per skill level.

make it with proper high\low\mid slots so players can properly make fits.

Also the most crucial change needed is to change the epithal so it won't be a PI oriented hauler as it was originall the primae job.
either remove it from the game or make it hauler focused on different type of cargo, looking at it roughly maybe Drones ? :) really have no idea.

At any rate my point is over time the ORE line became quite varied with unique ships based on industry which is constantly being developed, having the primae in game originally for pi with such horrible stats is like a bad joke.

It's a gift ship, it's supposed look pretty in your hangar.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

I don't mind making the Primae useful, but I dislike your idea to nerf the hell out of the Epithal.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

When I wrote this I thought it will be redundant to have two exact same ships then I noticed pretty much most haulers are same thing for use wise, hence it is not necessary to touch the epithal.

Still it will be nice to fix the primae.

In which case, let's "fix" all the other gift ships.

- Zephyr: This is basically a probing ship with no ability to fit any modules except one... which auto-spawns when you assemble the ship. Its only other ability is that Sleepers won't attack it. Tech 1 frigates are pretty much superior to it all other regards.

- Epethel: This ship can analyze stuff using a specific module that came with it (and does not spawn anywhere in the game). Like the Zephyr, Tech 1 frigates are superior to it in almost every way.

- the Opex Luxury Yacht: This is basically a Tech 2 Blockade Runner with warp disruption bubble immunity. In all other respects, a Blockade Runner is superior. Hell... despite not being able to use a Covert-Ops cloak, a travel-fit interceptor is arguably superior to it (when hull value is factored in).

- Gnosis: This ship is capable, but it is still somewhat lackluster compared to an actual combat battlecruiser.

The list goes on.

Gift ships are not really supposed to "compete" with normal ships in terms of effectiveness. They are there to make you feel like a "special snowflake."

And the Echo is a Concord boat that can hack the cans in incursions and won't get shot at either, unless you undock in highsec and some lifeforms are in dire need of feeling even more sooper dooper uber-special at killing a ship with no guns.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!
