Do you really enjoy mining though if you're off doing something else while your PC does the mining?
I assume you were asking me? If not feel free to disregard.

The issue isn't enjoying mining or not, personally. It's that whatever else I'm doing doesn't fully occupy me mentally and mining is just active enough to fill in the gaps.

As a bonus I have more isk next time I'm really active as well so...

"Nerfed mining", lol. Just wait for the next monthly economic report to reveal the asteroid genocide that has commenced.

The report will be meaningless as you are comparing apples and oranges, now that the alphas are here.

The CSM gets in the way of CCP communicating properly with the players of this game.

After all we are not just players, we are customers.

Time for the CSM to be disbanded.

Lol. Typical. Calling something useless before ever seeing it.

What an idiot.

One of the few things I have enjoyed over the years of playing Eve is mining. I know it sounds weird but I always have other things going on in the background that keep me busy in RL. I have run two account now for the better part of 6 years. One Orca pilot one Hulk pilot I have survived more gank attempts than I can remember, Now I am faced with the fact that CCP has nerfed the hulk and mining as a whole once again.

How did they nerf it? Well lets see they took one high slot away from the hulk which dropped its mining speed by about 30% even with t2 drones out. That is with full boosts and max skills.

Second Nerf: boost themselves they now cost between 4k to 8k each. And the best part is it cycles twice per one cycle of the strip miners.

So I am losing more money now in a field that does not make near as much as pretty much any other type of play. And before you say that it is "safe' play. Look at the kill broads. Mining ships make most of all the kills in the Eve universe.

Cya laters everyone it has been nice flying with you.

use a skiff

decent mine rate (now it has 2 miners) plus tank to boot

otherwise mine in null

Yes you are.

It is no different to the USA saying their GDP increased because they suddenly included the GDP of Canada.

Really? Can you point to me in the next economic report where it is anything like that?

At this point, you have no clue what changes CCP might make to the report to keep comparisons valid. You have no clue w...wait.... you just have no clue fullstop.

Yeah, I'm sure that smattering of low-skill ventures is really going to make a profound difference. Roll

No of course not. That is the whole point, you have to compare things that are the same or similar, unless CCP are going to release figures of how much alphas mined and then separate data on what omegas mined. It is useless.

That is the only way the data would be valid at which point, it would show if the level of mining by Omegas had been nerfed.

And I doubt very highly that they will do that. Lets just say it would be extremely improbable.

So I definitely stand by the idea you are an idiot.

When calling someone an idiot, it's probably a good idea to not look like one yourself by using the wrong 'your' and bad grammar to boot. Let me fix that for you.

"So I definitely stand by the idea that you're an idiot."

At the end of the day though, if this is the idea that you're standing by, then what relevance does that have to the topic at hand? Are you here to call people idiots, or talk about mining changes? Let's get real here, if you have a good argument, then there should be no need to hurl vacuous playground insults around like a monkey flinging it's own poop. Grow up.

I would hardly call 5,000 additional concurrent users and sustained growth in new characters a smattering, but it is hardly a level of measurement.

Yet as usual, you jump to a conclusion that it is useless. Now there is the perfect demonstration of idiotic.

You are simply one of the most useless, clueless members of the community, both in terms of your lack of knowledge of mechanics and lack of intelligence.

Ok fixed and yes that was me looking like an idiot. Big smile

For the mining changes. I see no problems. My Orca has more tank than a fully tanked freighter, I am happy with the amounts I get and my skiffs have ehps higher than 100k.

The burst duration is a bit silly but buggered if I can be bothered pausing them every minute for 30 seconds.

Well used to be you could fit a 34k tank while sporting an MLU and rockscanner. Todays Hulk has issues, granted not nearly as bad as the covetor.
What was the fit? Also did that include links? Even ignoring CPU, with 1 low, 3 mids and both rigs I'm not able to pull a 34k omni tank, but that could just be me doing it wrong.

I an using T2 at best so if you're going faction that could be it as well.

Edit: Forgot to mention the EHP number: 32.5K with heat.

This was back in the ice interdictions, before CCP changed the barges the first time. They used to be called supertank hulks.
Ah, ok, we're talking pre teiricide. In that case isn't the answer "fly a skiff" now? Beyond that I can't really say because I never mined extensively back then.

On a side note I don't think I've even had a serious mining ship under 50k EHP so maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Back then the hulk topped out at 45k ehp before you became profitable to gank due to bling. We are now in a strange position where 4 of the barges struggle to fit a tank while 2 are massively over tanked. Add in the lack of adaptability and the poor way the 3 classes of tank, yield and hold balance out with each other and it's highly likely we will see a 4th balance pass.
