Toobo found a new addiction...

Well some of you know me, most don't. But the chanceis that if you know me then it was probably through now non-EVE related IWI and my heavy gambling there. I was a RL gambling addict in my early 20s, got into big mess, cut the bad habbit (while relying on other addictions) but relapsed big time in the form of virtual gambling with ISK on places like IWI.

I had a melt down on he forums here when IWI got banned, raged, felt lost, withdrawal symptoms (I found virtual gambling has pretty bad psychological affect too although for me RL $ was never involved wih my ISK gambling), clinging on to my Toobo account on IWI although while it no longer mattered to EVE anymore (I'm the first one to hit lvl 92 now lol), etc, etc, yada yada yada.

I found a new addiction though, which I wanted to share and recommend (lol),

My new addiction is... Overwatch! XD I haven't had so much fun in a game and playing so many consecutive hours in long time (played like 30 hours non stop on my first day playing the game).

I still keep in touch with EVE and have my in game investments going on (doing pretty well after the patch), but now I no longer look for my rush from gambling, I get more than enough adrenalin rush from Overwatch now heh.

It's free to play this weekend, and I play on American server as Toobo, so if you are a US EVE player who also play Overwatch pretty good chance you see me around there. ;)

Anyways, gambling's bad boys, and if I managed to get over it (seriously, being the highest leveled toon on IWI is a proof that I gambled more than most other EVE gamblers lol), so can you.

Get over the salt (although me still not happy with the way CCP dealt with the whole thing), and hopefully you'd find something new and fun like I did.

Lol a bit tongue in cheek obviously, recommending something else addictive while claiming to have quit one thing, like I quit drinking but now I smoke like a chimney kinda thing XD

My record on IWI is special though, it's a proof how hardcore I was into gambling with ISK, but now I have moved on. Again, it's a bit lol but it's just like saying I used to smoke 3 packs a day but now I quit smoking kinda sh1t ;) I dunno, because I have been through many addictions in my life I don't tend to take it too seriously when I hear 'I quit' stories from people that I consider as having been very 'casual' with it in the first place, but when I see an old mate whom I know had been hardcore with it quit and move on that does give me inspiration heh

Like William Borroughs says in his book 'Junkie', you are not an addict unless you are high everyday for six months lol

Although it was a bit of a joke in a way, it's not about bragging. As IRL, an addict knows other addicts when they see them. If someone who's not one and just dabble with it here and there preach about it real addicts just laugh. ;)

EDIT: tl/dr, I know its bad comparison to a great man (or a God among men) but if someone says 'I quit mining' people will be like whatever man. But if Chribba comes here and says he stopped collecting Veldspar then you'd be like oh wow so that can happen?! While there is no pride having been a low life gambling addict, the sheer dedication to gambling at IWI I had shown while it was alive is unmatched at least during the time I was active. So I was just thinking if Toobo says he got over gambling at least people in the know would recognise that's pretty special lol
