How can I get the max Mining out of an Orca now?

I see harvest drones and Exumer drones. Are both of those able to be used by the orca?

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Mining drones and Ice harvester drones can be used by the Orca. Drone augmenter rigs will improve the yield.
Drone interfacing skill also improves yield. Parking close to the rock you're harvesting makes a big difference - drones are slow.
Mining/Ice harvester drone and the specialization skills matter.

Implants and bursts do not affect drones to the best of my knowledge. An exhumer can also use the drones and, in my experience, (T2 drones with 1 T2 drone augmentor rig) they will improve your unboosted yield by about 25% as long as you stay close to the rock you have assigned them to.

decided to test the new mining with drone on command ships last night.

got propoise (mini orca).

oh boy it's fun, you don't need that many skills for the drones.

use bit logic like skills which indicate they improve mining yield also the navigation skill iirc which improve speed. there is also drone sharpshooting iirc which improve their optimal or something.

overall the most important skill iirc is the industrial command ship skill which gives significant boost each level.

While the bandwidth on the Excavator drones isn't bad at 25 Mbit, their volume precludes their use on anything but a rorqual. Best drone you can run on the Orca is the Harvester drone (which aren't cheap). Next best would be Augmented Mining drones (which at the moment are also still pretty pricey). Then comes the standard T2 Mining drone. Since so much of the yield comes from percentage bonuses the base yield of the drone becomes very important.

The rate and number of conversions over to Orcas as mining platform is likely to be set by the availability and price of the top end drones for the next few weeks. The old trusty Skiff suddenly gets more attractive once one has considered a half billion ISK expenditure just for mining drones.

another note on porpoise\orca vs exhumers.

I did a test with ****** skills.

on porpoise with 5 mining drones I get decent yield but the nice parts are:
1. huge stupid massive tank like battleship. (around 80k ehp in game).
2. huge ore hold (on rank 2 skill I got 55k).
3. nice bonuses towards drones including both combat and mining drones.

actually with minor adjustment I think I can also do combat missions with this ship.
