They should balance it out so everyone gets an equal number. Lower some min/cal skills or let amarr and gallente get 1 more rank in a few skills

Amarr could get some more cap levels or armor layering/resistances.

The trained skill ranks don't matter so much. A level 2 skill for example has more skillpoints than a level 1 skill trained to the same rank. The skill sheet doesn't show that, so it's hard to tell if the amarr actually get less than the others.

And even beyond that, the most important thing is what you can do with those skills. As I see it, at the moment you can just do much more with the gallente skill set, because they simply have the strongest ships within alpha limitations: Tristan, Catalyst, Algos, Vexor - all very strong ships. They also have a wide variety of haulers, they have good drone skills and especially with bad gunnery skills, drones are very strong. The ability to launch 5 drones that Gallente and Amarr get on it's own is pretty good, as opposed to 3 for Caldari and Minmatar. Both have it quite rough, as they get split skills they can't even properly use at the same time in most cases. Those being Turrets and Missiles, while Gallente and Amarr will be able to profit from Drones and Guns on one ship just fine. But that's just my first thoughts on the matter, ymmv.
