Orca Hi-Sec Solo Mining Drone Fit

As the title suggests, I'm curious about the new possibilities of the Orca changes what would be the best Hi-Sec Solo Mining Drone Fit?

Yes yes yes Care bear blah blah blah.....not as good as Exhumers/Barges blah blah blah.....This is the sandbox.

Well, mining drone rigs would be a good start. And Drone navigation computers because mining drones are slow, and orca got lots of spare mid slots.

I would be very hesitant to strip too much tank off an Orca. Assuming various hi-sec ore a full Orca should be pushing 50-60 million in ore value alone. Don't have access to a fitting tool right now but my thoughts would be along the lines of:

2x Large Drone mining Aug II
1x Large Drone mining Aug I (calibration capped)

1 DCU
1 Reinforced Bulkheads OR DDA (the DDA has a significant impact but if youre being seriously attacked I think another 30k EHP is worth more)

2x Adapt invulnerability
100 MN AB*
Survey Scanner*
EM resistance shield amplifier

*The AB is for speeding up the warp cycle and incidental movement, the scanner for gauging what's in the belt and any rocks of interest. After getting into belt (with the presumed intent of staying until full) it might be worthwhile to deploy a mobile depot and switch those two modules over to drone nav computers.

1 salvager
1 tractor beam (cleaning up rat wrecks)
1 fleet boost (shield) with resistance charges
3x Neuts Or 2x Neuts & a shield remote rep in case some one tries to 'gank' you by popping your expensive drones.

I've also heard that the lock time is annoying without a Signal Booster so also considering that.

Yes, Orca got major bonuses to drone mining in the last update. Whether it beats out an exhumer is going to depend heavily on your skills and what drones you're using. Harvester drones and perfect skills is on par with a top end Hulk.

Don't use Drone Navigational Computers. Drone Nav Comps increase the MWD speed of drones, and mining drones don't have an MWD. It will not benefit them at all.

I used to mine on an old toon I had and used an exhumer.

if now orc is better and using drones no less it's major thing!

EDIT

OK I've checked in game. I didn't skilled anything into mining and it seems:

1. training to pilot an orca > 17 days.

2. Training to fly an exhumer > 50 days.

so if I train for an orca I'll have extra 30+ days of time to maximize other useful skills.

otoh orca are now sold around 1b for hull (800-900 m) while exhumers are much less.

I really loved mining in eve in the past and always wanted to pilot an orca. looks fun!

EDIT 2:

seems the Porpoise is like mini-orca with decent same style bonuses. should wait bit thought for market to be populated.

Edit 3:

Porpoise only 99 mill for hull on trade hubs. looks cool!

should be fun to try.
