FFS, it's bloody ammo. Set it and forget it.

Well, no, it's not useless - it refreshes the boost duration, which is computationally MUCH cheaper than reapplying the expired boost. The raw material cost of the charges is about 250-300. If you fire one every minute, you're looking at a whole 18K per hour.

Not really. This may come as a real shock, but not every boosting ship in the game is a perma-AFK Orca. Some of them are actually used in combat, where they occasionally experience adverse conditions. Explosions, for instance.

The duration bonus means that a fleet keeps its boosts longer when such adversity is encountered. Also applies for more mundane periods of non-boosting, such as "warping around a system" and, "The fatfingered idiot in the boosting command dessie just booshed himself away from the fleet for no reason."

Remember that new boost mechanics isn't just for fairly "calm" mining fleets. Sometimes ships can wander off their command ship, operate away from it for more than a minute, or sometimes they will miss a cycle for one reason or another. Ability to reapply buff before its duration runs out is there to cover such situations.

Boost with max mining skills and your cycle will waste one or more charge for another cycle before the first duration amount is over. Give players the option to have the boost cycle to what they want. In combat being able to apply boost more often would be an advantage that would have to be carefully find tuned. In other cases having duration and boost cycle would help maximize profit. The tediousness of having to switch a boost cycle on and off with hovering my mouse over duration counter it the final straw. I am going to straight orca drone mining where there is no waste in material or my time. No point in mining for max yield when the slightest bit of fun that was to be had is now gone. Hope these drones mine enough to keep eve economy stable because orcas will become the new mining ship that people use.

There is no way to synchronize the mining boost duration with the cycle time of the fleet boost. Currently you waste more then %50 of charges. This is not how any other module in the game works and need to be brought in line or have player choose options to bring it inline. No other module like a shield harder, repair of any kind, or even a siege module has an affect that is longer then it cycle. It is literally like firing one round of any ammunition and the next round that is fired nothing happens. Maybe if this was an overload affect to make up for gaining higher boost it would be ok, but of right now please fix this at least for mining as reapplying boost on 99% of mining ships before the first duration is over is a waste.
