That is strange, there should not be a way for you to disable cookies for the launcher. Only thing I can think of is that you may for some reason not have permissions to the folder where the launcher stores its cookies.

Assuming you are on Windows, look in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\QtWebEngine. You should see a folder called Default - see if you can create a file in there. If not, you may need to take ownership of the QtWebEngine folder and ensure you have write permissions for it and its subfolders.

I am surprised there is no other thread about this here, a lot of people are having this problem as I have seen on reddit and in coalition chat channels.

I did what you said, and created a new test folder there and it worked fine, I have permissions there as sole account/admin. Whats odd, is that my first account logged in fine and did not get this error, but then I tried to log in a second account and got this error.

*edit* tried to log in second account again and now it gives a generic "An error occurred" message.

**second edit** Okay tried again a few minutes later and it logged in fine after entering the email code. Took about an hour to.. I don't know, sort itself out apparently. Maybe a resource load somewhere was making it unhappy. Thanks for the quick reply.

Having tried to reactivate several old accounts here, it appears that any time you wait until the 2 factor code is expired and then try to use it you get the 'cookies' message rather than an expired code message.
There appears to be a huge delay in the delivery time of the validation codes. On 2 accounts, I got it right away. On 2 others, it came 15-30 minutes later necessitating several tries.. All 4 accounts use the same email address.

Just to make things more interesting. I have the same exact symptoms but am running OSX Yosemite (10.10.5).

Cheers!

I was also getting this message when attempting to log in a second account while m firs was logged in.

Had to log in through the website to get a code that worked.

On a whim, I turned-off Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac and the cookies bug disappeared. Shocked

I'm also surprised this is the first you've heard of it. I had the problem too, but it looked like the login server might have been hiccuping anyway, and it went away on its own after a refresh.

It looks like the delay to receive the token for 2FA might be why it bugs.

A friend had this issue (on the launcher and on the web auth) when the auth code took a few minutes to arrive.
As soon as the code is receive by mail "immediately", the error does not happen...

I hope this might help investigations

I've been running into this bug for awhile.

I could never figure out what caused it, it seems to be purely random.

Here's some info on my situations:
2FA - not the cause
AV - not the cause
1st or 2nd account - doesn't matter
