... only, they're probably not, Pieter. We seem to be able to do this because the Drifters we're seeing are in some kind of transitional state. I just killed a capital ship with a frigate. A Merlin. Blasters loaded with Null.

... I think I could have done it with an Ibis, though.

We just killed a Hive. Casually.

(The blast was a little ... um. More what was expected, though, especially given how poorly the Drifter forces defended themselves.)

Something's really wrong, here. We need to shut it down before they manage to do whatever they're sacrificing all this material for.

Relevant information. You can now see the Response Drifter Battleships in J-Space on directional, and combat probe them, where as before you could not. Confirmed by another pilot in 13.

Might be relevant to discussions on their K-Space cousins, depending if they too are visible to scanning equipment.

So-- um. A heads-up for everyone involved, and particularly those entities using the "Heavy Weasel" doctrine.

Today's operation in the Sentinel Hive was successful, but not without losses. Hikanta seems to have been reinforced; it's now substantially more dangerous, and direct, wrecking hits seem to just tear a Caracal apart.

More to the point, though-- and, we weren't using Heavy Weasels, so, maybe take this with a little skepticism and some testing-- the Drifters didn't miss.

Their doomsdays. They didn't miss, even once. Usually in the past, before the Weasels, it was like 50/50 or 60/40....

We might have a problem.

CONCORD's mandated changes to fleet command systems probably plays a part. Without any boosting capacity, we may simply have been above the threshold.

We were originally slated to use an armored weasel doctrine today, but the unusual operational time and relatively short notice meant we were short on core roles and reverted to the standard Caracal/Scythe doctrine. While obviously not an ideal doctrine, nor under ideal circumstances, the operation was completed in a reasonably effective and timely fashion.

To our knowledge, no observed changes were found in the Drifter Hives. However, we have not yet investigated Conflux Hive, where a brute force attempt on the Conflux alignment repository was attempted at approximately 0700hrs this morning. A formal announcement on that brute force attempt will be made in the coming days.
